Khairi ran his paws through the warm, soft sand. "Hmm," He thought aloud. "I wonder what else there is to show.." Suddenly, an idea sprouted in his mind. "There is a small oasis about a mile away. We could fly to arrive faster. Although we may run into... an interesting fellow." He told Hecate.

"By all means, let us go." Hecate nodded deeply and launched heself into the sky in a spray of sand. She regarded the flying sand with interest, filing the reaction away in her mind. Then she took a moment to study the air currents caused by the ocean. "Let us away," she said when she was satisfied.

As soon as Hecate launched into the air, Khairi boosted himself up into the air after her. For a moment he hovered, sniffing the air, trying ot find the scent. He quickly picked up and darted to that direction. His wings flapped steadily, his eyes dead on to the direction of the oasis.
For a long time they had been gliding in the air, but finally Khairi went in for a landing. When he touched the ground he felt the softest of grasses. He smiled. "We're here." He said quietly. "Feel free to explore, I cna gurantee anything you find won't harm you."
He looked at the vined walls of the oasis, covered with foxglove and honeysuckles. He smiled, viewing his own secluded little world. He looked at all the trees around him. Eucalyptus trees, Umbrella trees, Baobab trees, and many more. He looked at all of the flowers, all in different colors, shapes, and sizes. "This is my place.." He smiled

Hecate flew with smooth strokes of her wings, no energy wasted. She glided to a graceful stop beside Khairi. "Of course nothing will harm me," she reminded him. "The goddess watches." Still, she favored him with a smile for his reassurence.
The dark flitter padded silently about the place, studying the strange array of plants. She looked up in surprise as he said this place was his. "I thank you for the honor of entering your home," she said with deep feeling. To bring another into your home was a great trust in Olympus, and Hecate did not realize that the Valley was so different is this as well. "It is a beautiful place, a true sanctuary from the world."
