Hecate listened intently to the system of creatures and bondeds. "An interesting way to run things. I'm sure the gods of this place have a reason." She sat up on her haunches to look up at the great tree. "Gemfruits, and soon you say? Interesting." She dropped back down. "Nothing wrong with having a few offfspring, to my mind. Of course, not being Chosen, you'd be expected to spend a great deal of time with them I suppose." The Chosen were quite casual about having kiin, usually handing them off to non-Chosen relatives to raise. They liked to keep Chosen blood strong in the cities lines, but didn't have the time to take away from their devotions to care for kiin themselves.

"Oh no, nothing wrong at all with that.. It's just difficult to do so all by your lonesome." He replied. "One of my daughters, Harmony, takes many traits from both I and her mother. She's turned out fantasticly, you would adore her I think." He said, letting a small smile escape his mouth. He quickly dragged it back in and continued. "And my other daughter, Emery.. She requires special needs. She can't walk, nor can she speak, and she has minor hearing problems. Although she and Harmony get along beautifully, Emery loves her sister so much..
"Yes, we do spend a great deal of time with them, and even now that Harmony's grown I'm with her a lot during the day.. I guess it's just a force of habbit?"

Hecate smiled as Khairi spoke of his daughters. "A fine pair for a proud father," she commented. "I myself have several offspring, but strangly enough, their fathers raised them, keeping them away from me." She shrugged. "I'm still not sure if it was my loss or theirs."
"So," she continued, "What other sights must I see today?"

"Oh, it indeed was a loss of theirs, and a bit of yours." He said honestly. "I'm sorry you didn't have the pleasure of raising your own offspring. It has it rewards." Khairi said, his tone not revealing much emotion.
"Well, there is also the beach. I'm not really one for water, but I'd show you if you would like?" He asked, taking a step foward.

"Perhaps we will walk along the river and talk," she suggested. The tour was distinctly secondary, Hecate just wanted to be moving. "So you enjoy the caring for your offspring." There was no question in the words. "It is interesting. Perhaps the next I have, I will raise myself. It should be a worthy occupation." Her steps were slow, measured, and unwavering.

(You reply vaaaiiiirrr quickly.)) "Yes, that would be pleasent." He nodded and walked toward the river, listening to her intently. "Yes, you should deffinatley look into it. I mean, sure it can be very difficult on your own, but like I said, very rewarding." He nodded. "I wouldn't trade my two for anything in the world..."

She paced evenly beside him, somehow keeping up wit the bigger pykiin without looking like she was hurrying. "I believe I shall," Hecate decided definitively. "It shouldn't be difficult to find a temporary mate, no?" Changing the subject, she asked, "Are there any other events expected in the near future? Other than breeding season."

"Not too difficult. Although, the season is approaching quickly, so I reccomend you begin looking now." Khairi advised. "Other events? Why certainly. We have An'ethyst hunts where we can find unbondeds and bondeds. Bondeds stay with you your whole life, and give you some sort of enhancement. Kinri can give you very advanced markings, remiel can give you a mutation, rodeli will allow you to become an adult, and a vhimir can give you markings." He explained.
"And there are also a few random events, like last year, we created the nursery.. But that's really it as far as events go."

"Hm," Hecate answered noncommitaly. "I think I needn't worry about finding a mate. Hecate will arrange something if she so wills." Hecate's lifted head seemed to test the wind, though she didn't seem to move. "An now?" she asked curiously. "Something stirrs in the air, what goes on?"

Khairi seened confused. "I haven't the slightest idea." He said. "Maybe it's that we're nearing the beach? Many Pykiin are usually there. My brother may be there.. He's a water fanatic. Or perhaps his daughter.. Anyone could be there."

((I meant growings, a lot of kiin have grown through the course of this conversation. Of course, time does strange things in the Valley.))
"Perhaps," Hecate accepted that explanation, though she kept her head up and her ears flickered every so often, as though she were listening to a strain of music inaudible to anyone else. "So," she said in another apparent topic change, "What do you of this Valley think of magic?"

((XD Oh, haha. I knew you were referring to something in particular but I wasn't to sure what that was.))
"Well, a few Pykiin have been growing to adults, that may be it?" He asked, sensing Hecate's doubt. "Magic?" Khairi repeated it. "We believe in it very much, as that is what the Dryad is powered by. We can also become elementals, but to do so you must have a soulmate and a bonded. I plan on becoming a fire elemental after I get a soulmate.. He said. I already have a bonded, so I'm two thirds of the way there.
"But yes, as for elementals..." He began. "There are four you can take on. Air, water, earth, and fire. Each elemental can control their element to some extent. As you learn about your element you advance in it until you can control it completely. Although, that would take years to master." Khairi said.

((Sorry, I should have mentioned it in that post.))
"Elemental magic and creation magic," Hecate mused. "Makes sense." She stopped testing the magic strain, though her head didnt lower. "So you say you must have a bonded and a soulmate to gain your magic?" As Hecate was a goddess of magic in addition to moon and death, her Chosen thought she should know all she could of the magic of this land. It seemed far different than that of Olympus, and Hecate was just as pleased to find it so.

"Yes," Khairi replied. "And the bonded you recieve will not determine your element, so no need to worry about that." Khairi looked down as he felt something soft, warm, and grainy on his paw. "Ah! We have arrived to the beach." He said, watching the clear water flow in waves galore. "It's quite nice, I usually lounge in the shade here when I visit."

Hecate studied a pawful of sand with interest. There were no beaches in the north where lay Olympus. "Hm, it is rather pretty." She let the sand fall from her paw as she scanned the beach. "Quite nice, all in all."
