"Ah, now I see. This makes sense to me know." Khairi replied. He wished he had taken a name of a god. What an honor that would be.
"So have you become familiar with the valley yet?" He asked Hecate, knowing that Athena had as she had lived here for a while now.

"No," Hecate answered simply. Knowing he wanted more, she added, "I just arrived this night."
((Hehe, no comment on the "two of their own were killed?"))

((Khairi'd rather not get onto the whole subject of "death" XD))
"Oh, just tonight?" He asked. "Well then perhaps I could show you around tomorrow? Or if you'd rather explore the Valley yourself, that would be just fine as well."

"Of course," Hecate accepted gracefully. "The Chosen of Athena will wish to return to her Temple before Sun's Rising for the ceremonies." Athena looked stricken - she'd nearly forgotten the need to prepare for daybreak. Excusing herself politely but rapidly, she took to the air. Hecate chuckled low, watching the younger flitter. "So young, and so passionate about her duties," she commented.
((Eh, of course. Not exactly a pleasant subject, though it's quite a story.))

Khairi nodded as Athena excused herself, and then turned his attention back to The Chosen of Hecate. The question was beatin inside of him, and he decided it was time to release it. "Now, you mentioned before 'two of their own were killed'." Khairi repeated. "Do you mind elaborating?"

Hecate's dark face followed the white flitter as she vanished into the sky. "Two Chosen have been killed. The first was Chosen of Hestia, on the night the Temple celebrated her Choosing." Hecate turned to look at Khairi, her eyes bleak. "She was the younger sister of the Chosen of Athena. They were close before Athena's Choosing. It nearly drove the Chosen of Athena mad, and she had to leave." After a long pause, Hecate continued. "The second was the Chosen of Apollo. The god Chose another in his place, and the new Chosen of Apollo lives in the Temple the Chosen of Athena established."

Khairi stood there, taking in her words like a bitter drink that was forced down his throat. Khairi was brutal, but listening to death just put him to turmoil. He sympathized for Athena. He couldn't imagine what it would be like to lose Shomari or Kohana. He would never be able to go on. He silently applauded her for getting through such a rough thing.
"Oh, Hecate. I'm terribly sorry that happened..." Was all he could say. "I cannot imagine what that must have been like for you." And in doing so, Khairi showed emotion for the second time in his life.

"For me?" Hecate asked in some surprise. "It is not for me you should be sorry. Hecate is the Lady of the Night, and so also of death to an extent. It was no shock, no sorrow for me." Her eyes again strayed to the sky, this time northward, toward Olympus. "The Chosen of Athena took it hard, of course, as she should. The rest," she trailed off, eyes hardening. "It was a warning, and it went unheeded. And so the Chosen of Apollo followed, a second chance. But that was as nothing too. I fear they'll not be offered a third warning."
((I should have mentioned, Hecate has a strange view of death. For some reason it doesn't bother her at all.))

((Nor worries, Khairi has the same thing. Although if it does bother someone he tolerates he will show sympathy.))
"Ah, well I suppose that's good." Khairi nodded. This female was beggining to grow on him more and more as he learned about her. He listened intently as she spoke of how the Olympians were provided with two warnings.
"What would happen to those that don't respond to the second warning?" Khairi asked her.

Hecate gave the brown male a sidelong glance. "I've always felt it to be a healthy attitude, but for some reason it tends to upset others." Her slight smile was approving. "The Olympians will fall. Perhaps they will be killed by the rebels in the City, perhaps they will lose their god-given gifts. I know not, and as of now, I care not. I am here, not there. The only reason I gave thought to the matter once I left was to bring tidings to the Chosen of Athena."

"Quite understandable," Khairi nodded. "Some strange reason, I haven't the slightest idea..." He teased. "I'm actually the same way, I just didn't want to upset you.. Although now I don't have to play that game."
"Well then I guess those who choose not to listen deserve it." Khairi said firmly, getting a bit heated on the subject. "If they wish not to use their divine gifts, then they shouldn't posses them. I'm glad you decided to leave such an ignorant group."

Hecate didn't seem to notice Khairi's teasing tone. "I'll never understand the so-called 'normal' mind," she commisserated. "I don't play games, so I try to avoid those with sorrows." Her gaze and voice sharpened as she shot a glance at the male. "It doesn't do to question the gods' Choices," she reminded firmly. "They have Their reasons. They can withdraw Their blessings if They choose. When Hecate commanded I leave, there was nothing else I could do. Not that I was averse to the idea," she added in a friendlier tone. "And one must wonder if the Chosen in their Temple would notice if a few of their number lost favor with the gods."

Khairi nodded in agreement. "Normal minds are too simple for my personal taste." He quickly backed down from the subject as both her voice and eyes hit harshly on him. He had never been spoken to by anyone that way, let alone a female. This was so new to him... However, he knew that she was very serious aboutt his issue, so he decided it would be best to drop it.
"Well, on that note, how about that tour?" He asked.

"An excellent idea," she agreed, losing every trace of her stern attitude. The only thing that aroused such harsh feelings in her was criticism or implied criticism of the gods. After all, They were gods, not subject to the thoughts and feelings of mere mortals. They did not have to be understood. Now that Khairi was not doing so, there was no reason for hostility. Hecate liked this strange male, more like her in mind than any of the Chosen in Olympus, or any unchosen male either.

"Right," He said whilst turning around. He sighed a bit with relief at her change in tone, and he could sense her relaxing. That was good. "Well, as you've probably guessed this is the Dryad. This is where Pykiin go to grow, change markings, colors, and some may even become mutated. *goes into schpeil about process of doing so/bondeds*. It's actually quite interesting..." He said. "This is also where gemfruits hang when waiting to hatch. Which will be happening soon.." Khairi explained, glad that he wasn't having any more Kiin. "I went through that last season.. Not about to do it again."
