Orrtha stood at the edge of the pond, following the waterfall's steady, powerful descent with her small, beady eyes. She was determined to know whether the pykiin of the underwater city knew anything about her father, and what he used to be.
She wrapped her tail about her, waiting at the water's edge with her ears perked slightly. A small pile of waterweed that she had gathered from the ocean bed was at her side. She stared straight ahead and waited... she knew that she had been followed here by at least more than one pykiin. It wouldn't be Amaranthine. Her adoptive mother let her have plenty of space to herself as long as she obeyed the rules. It was a fair agreement for Orrtha, and made exploration much easier. However, she didn't want to leave for the underwater city alone. After Ammy's tales of the duckweed threat, Orrtha wanted to make sure that she had at least one comrade on her short but meaningful journey.

Lola twitched in the trees she had heard about the trip under the water but she hadn't been on the first trip she wondered if the pykiin by the water was planning on going.
Lola walked out and said "Hiya, you hear about the underwater trip too?"

Orrtha turned to see a white, pink, and blue kiin approach her. "Yes, I'm planning on going underwater, but I'm waiting for a few other pykiin to join me before I leave, just to be safe." She waved her tentacles idly. "My name is Orrtha, by the way."

((Eating soon, anyone is free to jump in but don't flood the roleplay with too many kiin, please. There will be no chance of actually aquiring a Syren, but some important plot points will be covered in this roleplay so if you don't join it might be beneficial to just follow along.))

Laura pounced on a crab as it scuttled into the water.
"Oh, darn." She growled and looked up. She saw two pykiin, and one with tentacles on her chin. Laura giggled and made her way to the pykiin. Trying to avoid getting wet, she sat on a rock by them.
"Oh, how do you manage going underwater!" She nearly slipped into the water as she listened to them.
"We need gills..." She said silently as she regained balance.

Brandy stepped lively as she followed the rushing sound of the waterfall. Her mother hadn't let her go the first time so it was only right in her mind to sneak out and try to get there herself.
She crept to the edge of the pond and looked in. She's never been in or under water before, only around it. To say the least she skipped out on swimming lessons with her half sister and instead found refuge on her raft.
Brandy pawed at the water before she noticed that there were other 'Kiin. Four others to be exact. Stepping lightly she wandered over to where two had alreayd been conversing. "Are we planning an adventure?" She asked the two as she tried not to interrupt. She recognized one of them, but was still a little iffy on who exactly she was so instead she introduced herself, "I'm Brandy. I don't seem to remember any of you."

Eloise had been running around chasing butterflies through fields when she heard voices not to far off. Being new the the Valley she thought it might be nice to go and meet some new pykiin. She trotted away leaving the butterflies to their peace and quiet.
She reached the pond and heard just the last few sentances. "Breathing underwater! I didn't think that was possible."she looked at the pykiin with tentacles under her chin. She had remembered Kilo talking about another kiin like that and wondered if they were related.

Orrtha glanced around at the rapidly growing group of kiin, feeling more and more anxious to start the journey. "Alright everyone, we don't have too much time now. We don't need gills to breathe underwater, though - just waterweed." She pushed forward the pile of lumpy green aquatic plants and took a mouthful for herself while she was at it. It tasted oddly like chocolate chip cookies, but she decided not to tell Amaranthine that - she wasn't supposed to be eating human food.

Brandy clenched a wad of the foul looking weed and squished it for a moment before she inserted it into her mouth and chewed. It wasn't a terribly horrible flavor, but it wasn't pleasing either. It was reminicent of flower pettals, something Brandy didn't eat on purpose.
She gulped it down and wagged her tail eagerly waiting to be led to this underwater land.

((Okay, I'll ask that no more characters join at this point, but those who have been roleplaying so far can catch up as we go along. I have quite a bit of ground to cover, so I want to get going with this P: ))
"Dive!" Orrtha called excitedly as the rest of the kiin finished their waterweed. She poked her nose underwater and inhaled once to double check that she had collected the right plant, then slid under the pool's gently rippling surface. All she knew was that she had to swim into the waterfall... it didn't seem that bad. With a little kick of her back paws she was headed towards the chute and ready to begin her adventure.

Lola followed dove head first into the water. She had a moment to be grateful that Scratch didn't know what she was up to then scrambled to catch up with Orrtha
