Okay, RP with myself #1. xD Well, anyway, what this is is basically, for those of you who don't know the entire story, what happened with Yue over summer, and the beginning of the school year.
Please excuse spelling mistakes (I ran spell check four times today alone), but if you could tell me about them or grammar/punctuation errors, that would be great.
Ah yes, and if anyone notices that I did something wrong with what happened over the summer, whether it was leaving something out or I exagurated or just totally did something wrong, please, please tell me. I don't want to be making something up. xD I went threw like, every thread I could find (quite literally...) and could not find one of the actual threads, so it's like... blegh. Anyways, if you know the way something actually happened, you may post or PM me. ;D
Amai ran out of her den, dragging Yasashii along with her.
“Where’re we going, Mom?” Yasashii asked, obviously annoyed that he’d been awoken at midnight. “I’m sleepy.”
Amai looked at Yasashii, slowing down. “I’m sorry. Here,” she said, picking him up and placing him between her wings on her back. “Yue is waiting, and I don’t want to be late. You haven’t met him yet! Besides, Mizu will be there, too.”
“Mom, I’ve met him,” Yasashii yawned. “Remember? Uncle May left a note for you and Yue and Uncle Mizu to meet at the pond with their kiin, and then we all met then kinda left after saying hi ‘n’ stuff.”
“You haven’t met the Yue that I knew, though,” his pink mother replied, clearly excited, as though she hadn’t seen her brother in months. Which was, in a way, true – she hadn’t heard the brother who she grew up with since they were kiin.
It was thanks to Mizu that they were meeting. Mizu, Yue’s ‘father’ had spoken to Amai just two nights before, telling her about Yue returning to normal.
The pond shone brightly with the moonlight reflecting upon it when Amai stepped into the pond’s clearing.
Mizu murmured to Yue, only loud enough for him to hear. “They are here.” He needn’t know who it truly was. All that he knew was that there was two Pykiin behind Yue and Mizu.
“I know,” Yue smiled, standing up. “Get ready,” he said, bracing himself.
Mizu laughed, getting up and moving himself a few feet away from Yue.
Yasashii leapt off of his mother’s back just in time not to fall off.
Amai ran toward Yue and tackled him, knocking him back a few feet. “Yue!” She cried, hugging him and not letting go.
A huge exhale of breath came from Yue as the wind was knocked out of him. “A-Amai!” He exclaimed, hugging her in return. “Are you alright?”
Amai let go, finally and smiled at him threw thankful eyes, “I’m great, thanks! Are you...?” She knew that Yue knew what she meant.
“I am fine, as well, thank you.” The black Pykiin smiled, his eyes sparkling in the water’s reflecting light.
Amai sat down and looked at her brother, not wanting to take her eyes off of him for even a second. “Tell me.”
“Tell you what?” Yue asked, even though he knew what she wanted.
Amai laughed, “The same games. Tell me what you’ve been up to. What else?”
“It is a long, long story,” Yue warned.
Mizu said to Amai, suddenly appearing behind her, “I will watch Yasashii.” He then walked off to Yasashii without another word.
Amai grinned, “Well, I’ve got time, obviously.”
Yue took in a breath, letting it out in a sigh. “Where would you like me to start?” he asked, his eyes closed.
Amai smiled – she was glad that he seemed about to tell her, “Start... when Jimen came.” She was referring to the sixth member to enter their Pounce – the little earthy-colored kiin with an attitude. Jimen annoyed Yue to no end.
Yue frowned. Did this all start when Jimen came?
He didn’t know where to start. A few moments passed, and the moon shone brightly upon the Valley, illuminating Yue’s eyes brightly. The wind rustled the leaves on the branches; the sound died down when Yue began.
“For starters, it started when I grew up and...” Yue smiled mysteriously, “and I realized I loved Solar. I went to see her one night.” The smiled faded and turned to a frown. “I asked if it was wrong for an adult to love a childhood friend. She said she didn’t think it was weird. I told her I loved her,” he said simply, his tone and face unaffected by the words, but his heart falling as he remembered her response.
“She... did not love me.” Yue sighed, looking away from Amai finally.
He chuckled softly, “I just sort of spiraled downward from there. I thought things threw, for the most part, and I thought about my past.
“The first couple of weeks, it did not seem like my past had really held anything special. I only remembered the bad thing-”
Amai spoke out for the first time, interrupting Yue. She hardly ever cut her brother off. “Your past was great, though - with the exception of Solar... but still-!”
“You need to let me finish.” Yue stopped her in a low voice, smiling as he sat down and placed his paw calmly on Amai’s.
“Like I said, the first couple weeks after that were not great. I avoided Solar as much as possible, and it seemed like she avoided me. It had been that way since I had grown, simply because Solar was younger, and I was older. It felt so odd, playing with her, and I think she felt the same way.
“Somehow, it really is not good that I have forgotten how, it ended up that Solar... did love me, in the end.” Yue smiled. “A lot happened in between, though, that I do not feel like discussing. And when Tsuki and Hoshi and Nakama came, I really learned to cherish my family. You have got no idea how much regret I feel for not realizing just how much I cared for my family before this.”
Yue stopped there. He thought for a few minutes, while Amai looked at him in silence, thinking to herself. Yue continued, “Solar and Ume got a bit upset with me just a month or two ago, however. They both knew I had changed, and Solar wanted the Yue whom she had grown up with, not the depressed Yue who used to be. I left Solar for a little while, staying in Mizu and Ume’s old den, thinking about myself, and what had been happening. Through some reason or another, I was able to regain my old self. I went back to Solar.” He looked up to the moon. This was his happy ending.
“Now I am here, sharing my story with my wonderful little sister,” he chuckled. Hardly ever did Yue or Amai count age, since they’d hatched at nearly the same time.
He nudged Amai teasingly. “I heard from a very reliable source,” he nodded over to Yasashii, which signaled to Amai that Yasashii must have told Tsuki, who told Yue. “That you have found love?”
Amai looked over to Yasashii, a little panicked. Yasashii was sleeping next to Mizu, though, so it didn’t matter. She looked back to Yue and laughed nervously. “Um, yeah, I did.” She took in a breath of air, becoming her usual confident self again. “Apollo. It’s kind of a long story, but his name is Apollo.” She smiled and blushed a bit. “He’s still a kiin, too. But he’s kind of Yasashii’s adopted dad.”
Yue raised a side of his mask, not having heard the whole story. Or, at least, he hadn’t listened to the entire story. He was still a bit ‘off’ when Breeding Season had happened. “Who is Yasashii’s true father?”
“Oh! Shomari is. Can’t you tell?” Amai laughed, looking at Yasashii. “He’s gotten all his markings from Shomari.”
“Ah, I guess that would make sense, would it not?” Yue smiled, looking to the kiin, then back to his sister. “So he is a kiin?” He chuckled. “You’re still not worried about age, hmm?”
Amai glared jokingly. “Hey, you don’t, either. And besides, what does it matter? You liked Solar when she was a kiin, and it’s the Pykiin inside that counts, and-”
Rolling his eyes, Yue held a paw up to stop Amai. He laughed, “I was only kidding. Do not worry.”
Amai shoved Yue playfully. “Hey, that’s not nice.”
“I am sorry.” Yue smiled, letting Amai shove him over. He yawned and looked to the sky. The morning was coming over the horizon, and this meant it was probably time for him to go to sleep.
Amai smiled at him, glad that her brother was truly back. “Bed time, huh?”
“Yes, and I suppose that you need sleep, as well. Yasashii probably wants to get home, too.” Yue pointed out, looking at the little peachy-pink kiin.
With a nod, Amai hugged Yue. “I’m glad you’re back,” she whispered in his ear, and then walked off to get Yasashii. “Thanks, Mizu,” she smiled, taking the kiin from him and placing him on her back. “Please tell Ume I said hi?”
Mizu smiled and nodded, getting up and stretching forward. “Of course, I shall be sure to tell her.”
Yue walked up behind Amai. “Thank you, Amai. I am sorry,” he smiled apologetically.
“It’s alright,” Amai smiled. “Well, I’ll see you later, okay?” She asked, turning around and looking back at Yue.
“Yes, I will see you later. I promise.” Yue nodded, promising to himself, as well, that he would see Amai again soon.
Amai smiled, glad that she had gotten her way, then began walking back to her den.
Mizu looked to Yue after Amai was clearly out of earshot. “You missed her far more than you were letting on.”
“She is my sister, and I was, for all reasonable purposes, not here for months. What would you expect?” Yue smiled; turning around, ready to walk back to his den with Mizu.
Mizu began walking with Yue. “I do not doubt that, but my point is that you ought to realize she missed you, as well.”
“I feel guilty enough about this, Mizu.” Yue murmured.
“You think I am trying to make you feel guilty? Hardly.” Mizu sighed. Obviously Yue was not getting what he was trying to say. "I was hoping that you and Amai had perhaps become close again - like the brother and sister you once were." He changed to a different issue before Yue could respond. “Now, regarding Jimen-”
“I know what I am going to say to him,” Yue interrupted. “Give me time, please.”
They’d arrived at Yue’s tree house-den. The black Pykiin looked up into the tree house. The dawn had nearly lit the entire home.
“Good morning, Mizu. Thank you for coming with,” He smiled at his ‘father’ and nodded respectfully before spreading his wings and flying up to the tree house, landing on the porch and walking in. The first thing he did was go over to the windows and cover them, trying to keep out the light.
“Yes, good morning, Yue,” Mizu chuckled, turning to walk to his own den, where he was sure Kawa, his own son, was up waiting for him.

A Closer Bond
