Ok, after all the horrible things that happened on Friday, I got some good news yesterday! My brother who lives in East Texas called to wish my dad a happy late birthday, he'd tried to get a hold of him on Friday, but kept missing him. I'M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!!!! **happy happy joy joy dance** We're supposed to keep it on the down-low, cause Jarred (the brother) doesn't want to jinx everything. He/She will be the first born, and he's really hoping everything will work out, though there's no reason they shouldn't. I went and bought yarn and new needles today so i can start on a baby blanket  i picked white and yellow, since it's way too early to know if it's a boy or a girl, and yellow can go either way. I've wanted to be an aunt ever since bubba got married two years ago and i understand why they waited, they wanted time where it was just them before they decided to start their family, but i'm just excited...i'm so excited...i just can't hide it! She goes to the doctor this next week to confirm everything, all they've done so far is two different at home tests...but they were both clearly positive |

Its nice being an Aunt actually. I know when I get to spend time with my niece and nephews, I have a blast, though I'm usually babysitting, and nowadays I don't see them much.
You'll have to show pictures when he/she is born. I'm so excited for you.
....
Now just to wait on my friends baby, he/she was due the 31st of July and still has yet to come. Her mom could possibly be in labor as I type this <3

Aw, cute. I my first baby blanket was made by my mom's cousin Julie.
I still own it actually, though since its been through the wash the bows on the back have seemed to become mangled, and the sheep and ducks are fading, but I can honestly say that I still somewhat wrap it around mysefl and fall asleep.

my first baby blanket was a quilt, my Meme made it 2 years before i was born, and gave it to my mom just in case, well, the quilt just happened to be for a girl, and i'm definitely a girl that blanket is full of holes, and stains, but i refuse to throw it away, and am actually trying to find someone to help me restore it i was the last grandchild born on that side of the family, and this will be the first great grandchild on the other side of the family |

I'm pretty much the middle child, so I'm not the first nor am I the last of anything xD
But for some reason Julie made the blanket especially for me. My Mom says its because I was born near the same date as Julie's Daughter and because her daughter's first name is my middle name and her middle name is my first name, we don't share the same last name though.
My baby blanket has a few holes, and the side ruffles are pretty tappered, but I wouldn't chuck it in the garbage ever. <3

Aww, congrats!
I loved my baby blanket. Actually, I had two. One was blue on one side and green on the other, but unfortunately I left it out on the lawn and it got run over by the lawnmower. My godmother tried to make me a new one to replace it, but I never liked it. The fabric was scratchy, and it was jungle print. Not what I wanted at all. My other blankie was green and white, almost like a quilted pattern. My grandma made it for me, and I kept that one until it was literally falling into pieces.
I'm the oldest in my family, though both my mom's siblings have kids older than me. My oldest cousin is nearly twice my age, and has a 7 year old son.

YAYA Congratulations, Jade! Hah, knitting is fun. <3 I used to knit scarfs and stuffs for my stuffed animals a couple years ago to practice... hmmm, I wonder where my knitting stuff is... something for me to think about.. xD I still have my baby blanky... although its not to surprising seeing as I'm 10. :3 White with weeetle pink roses all over. -snugs it- |

Major congrats, Jade! It's fun being an aunt, even when the kid gets to the "terrible twos" stage... *pokes her stubborn little nephew* He's cute, but such a troublemaker @.@ He drives all of us nuts sometimes. I still have my two :3 Both of them were made for me by my aunt and godmother before I was born - they're both soft, thin crotcheted blankets, one of them is a soft sea-green and the other one is white. I loved the green one so much more than the white one while I was younger, and it went everywhere with me, but of course it got plenty of holes along the way. It's not quite falling apart yet, and I still have it, but the white one has since taken its place so that the green one can stay in semi-okay condition. My nephew's blanket was made by the same person, and he loves it just as much as I love mine  It's so much fun to watch him play with his blanket :3 And then there's Jaela's old blanket... which by now is more like a dirty, mangled ball of strings. We call that one peice-of-peice-of-blankie. |

Info Update! Baby is due April 20th! I'm kinda hoping it'll be 5 days late and then baby and brother will have the same birthday I get sonogram pictures next week, this week's doc appointment was just to confirm everything |

Update: Got a phone call today from my brother, Dorrie went for an ultrasound today and guess what! I'm going to have a niece! Jaelyn Beth XD I went and bought more yarn so I can make a pink and purple blanket as well  |
