As I was going outside to hang clothes on the line, I realised that there were a few birds at the feeder, so I very very slowly stood about 10 feet away and froze so I could watch them.
It wasn't long before there was another visitor - a chipmunk. The little rodent scurried halfway up the pole holding up the feeder. Now, just for background information, the feeder is set up like this (I made it myself):
The chippy waited until the birds were gone, then continued up the curved arc of the pole until it got to the cover of the pretzel container and sat there for a few minutes, contemplating how to get to the tray without falling off.
Of course, here comes a sparrow. The bird lands on the pole, and the chipmunk, scared out of his pants, falls off the feeder and scurries away. *giggles*
That has to be the best things I've ever watched at the feeder xD
