I don't know if everyone knows this yet, but I wanted to let everyone here know, just in case. There is currently a pet food recall, both cats and dogs are experiencing kidney failure and even death because of something wrong with the food. It's only canned and wet food, dry food is safe. But the problem comes from a distribution center which distributes more than 50 different brands of cat and dog food. Please check the following link to see if your pet food is on the list, and contact your vet if you're worried: www.menufoods.com/recall/

Thanks for pointing this out! I probably never would have known otherwise.
We don't feed my dogs canned/wet food, so they're okay, and we only feed my cats Fancy Feast (occasionally) and Friskies. Though I don't see why we buy Fancy Feast, since my cats can't tell the difference between the two and Fancy Feast is much more expensive.

My cat does not eat any of those brands and as he likes to get wet food in his Long fur, I think we are safe.

Yeah, I saw this at the shelter on Saturday and nearly had a heart-attack. Luckily, I'm safe. Only dry food over here.
Aww. *tear for the dying kitty*

If for any reason something ever happens to your pet (may it be this or just old age please read. Pets are part of the family too why not place them on a site dedicated to Pet memorials? (obviously if thay have passed) My Aunt and Uncle have set up a site that allows you to place a pet that has passed away on it. This allows the world to know that you miss your pet. Please check out the site (which is under construction) www.therainbowbridge.ca/

We don't use wet/canned dog food or cat food at our house. Or my Oma's house. But a family-friend of ours was telling us yesterday that one of her friends had two of her favorite cats died from it. Thanks for addressing this, perhaps it saved a life or three....
