Things were different. She was even more slender and limber than she was as a kiin, and she felt as though she was liquid when she moved. Every pawstep was delicate and graceful, and for a moment Amaranthine felt embarrassed about how clumsy she must have been as a kiin.
Linaeve had been the first to greet her when she had emerged from the Dryad. The two sisters were finally able to be adults together. Orrtha had given her a sad smile and a congratulations. In that moment, something between them faltered, and their relationship hadn't been as close since. No matter what Ammy did to convince Orrtha that she was still a kiin inside, Orrtha was convinced that Ammy had always been an adult inside, and now she was an adult outside, too.
Now Amaranthine's heart was that of an adult's as well, and while she loved her adopted kiin, she still yearned for a kiin of her own. A new feeling was engulfing her, though, a feeling she had never known as a kiin and had never understood between others.
She wanted a soulmate.
Amaranthine couldn't explain it. She had never understood love, never understood the bond between two pykiin that seemed so strong. She had never wanted it. For days, she tried to convince herself that it was just something new about being an adult. Something she didn't have to listen to. But the more she ignored her desire to be loved, the more it swelled and demanded her attention.
Now, perched in the Dryad's branches with an ever-growing curiosity in her heart, she closed her eyes and listened to the life of the Valley all around her, wondering what it had been like without this lingering, barely noticeable feeling of loneliness.
She couldn't remember.

(This is screaming for Moose.)
Moose was out on his regular morning walk. He sniffed the fresh crisp air and smiled. The Dryad. It was odd how the Dryad could release this alluring aroma of goodiness, but some how it did. He smiled, noticing a pinkish slender figure in the shadows of the Dryad.
"I'm guessing you like it up there." Moose chuckled, looking up at Ann from the soft ground. "It seems as though whenever I'm talking a walk to the Dryad, you're here." He then realized how jerkish that could have sounded. "Not that that's a bad thing. No it's a good thing. Not in a creepy way, but just a- Hi." He decided to start over.
"Mind if I join you?"

(Indeedly. Hahahahahah, I love Moose's charrie x3 If he was real and I didn't have Jycius.... -jk-)
Amaranthine peered through the branches and smiled at the familiar voice. "Good morning, Moose," she chuckled, amused at how he seemed to be chasing his words around in circles. "A pleasure to see you again."
As a breeze blew the Dryad's leaves gently out of the way, Moose's face became visible, and Amaranthine's heart skipped a beat. She immediately felt foolish. What is it with this... love thing? What, you get to be an adult and all of a sudden you think everyone is a potential mate? Come on, Ammy. He already has kiin, you dweeb.
With a flick of her tail she dismissed the awkward conversation in her brain and focused on Moose again. "I would be most delighted if you joined me," she answered formally.

(Haha, silly Kay.)
Moose watched the breeze at it blew through the branches of the Dryad, and more importantly, Amaranthine's mane. He watched as the wind made it's way through Ann's silky, burgundy mane. For a moment he lost himself. But after the breeze had left his mind regained it's power. It was soon lost again though, after her face was revealed. His eyes danced about her small, delicate face with the small, white strip. However, he tried to avoid eye contact, so she wouldn't think he was staring at her. Even though he was...
His brain quickly decided to squeesh his heart, and continue on with conversation. "Oh the pleasure is all mine." He said, hopping atop of a branch. He quickly thought tried to think of something to talk about, "Nice weather we're having." But failed miserably

((Moose's Miserable Fail points: +1
I feel like being cruel and creating awkward roleplay situations today x3))
"The weather is generally quite nice around the Valley," she answered, unsure of what else to say. He was only a few branches away, and her sharp nose picked up on a subtle, earthy scent. It smelled like a cedar forest, and she closed her eyes for just a moment to breathe it in.
The feeling nagged at the corners of her mind, and before she could think about what she was asking words came tumbling out of her mouth. "When you grew, did you feel any different? Not just in size and posture, no, not physically, but... mentally? Emotionally?" She looked into his eyes, trying to convince herself that it was natural to look at the person you're speaking to, and realized how insanely stupid she must have sounded.

((Moose: UR FALE POYNST EEQAL A JILLION MEEELION TRILION!!!111!))
Moose subtly slunk over to her, noticing that there were a couple branches between them. Well, you see, Moose wasn't the most... "talented" or "balanced" gemfruit in the Dryad. He came close to slipping, falling off, and possibly breaking a branch until he was at least arm's length away from Ann. Oh yeah. Talk about subtle..
When she asked these questions, Moose cringed. He hated answering things like those. Well.. at least it wasn't Kambo asking them. But still... "Well..." The elven began. "I don't remember to much about my kiin-hood or growing up. But something I do remember was falling in love for the first time in my old village, and it was coincidently right after I had grown up. So yeah, I guess I felt some emotional and mental changes.." He decided.
"Haha.. I just realized how long ago it was that I grew up," Moose chuckled. "I was a kiin for not too long.. I guess the Dryad and my Village had important duties for me." He said confidently, not cocky.

((Farn your chatspeek is absolutely ridiculous. I had to read that three times before I understood any of it xD))
Amaranthine's heart fluttered as she realised that Moose was - rather clumsily - inching his way toward her. She smiled despite herself as he spoke, just listening to his voice. It was the color of slightly over-ripe raspberries, she decided, deep and rich.
She nodded as he continued, feeling rather relieved. So, this love thing is just a common side-effect of growing up, it seems. Perhaps I'll grow out of it and won't have to worry about it anymore. It would be rather awkward indeed to have to live with it for the rest of my life. For some reason, she didn't feel satisfied with that answer, though. Questions kept rifling through her mind, but she could tell that Moose didn't really want to talk about it, and she pushed the questions away firmly.
"I never did know you as a kiin," Amaranthine said quietly, her teal eyes searching his face and trying to imagine him as a bouncy, klutzy kiin. The image came up surprisingly fast in her mind, and she giggled. There were still traces of childhood in him.
Amaranthine wondered absentmindedly what he thought of her. She had never seen herself as an attractive pykiin, especially when sized up to her gorgeous older sister. Curiosity gripped her in an iron stronghold, and she looked toward the Dryad's trunk instead, convinced that he might somehow reach down through her eyes and into her mind if she looked at his face for too long.
"The Dryad has important duties for all of us. Mine is to watch Orrtha."

((Chatspeak in general is ridiculous xD))
Moose thought for a while. "No one here knew me as a Kiin actually. I wasn't the most popular in my old village, either. I guess I like it this way. I'd rather be like this than the ever so swarmed Tinneaus... Him and all his women. Poor guy must always be ambushed." He said sympatheticly for Tinneaus. "But yes. I was quite the dork as a Kiin. I mean... more of a dork than I am now, if that's even possible to imagine." He chuckled.
"Hm... I wonder what Orrtha and Elk and Kambo's important duties are...." He wondered. "Only time will tell... But I wish it wouldn't. Kambo's grown abnormally fast... I'm afraid of losing her." He admitted. "To all those boy Pykiin." His face quickly hardened. "Stupid boy Pykiin."

Amaranthine giggled when Moose mentioned Tinaeus. "Tinaeus is almost a sort of idol in the Valley. I'm quite glad I don't have to live with too much extra attention," she said honestly, though she reluctantly admitted to herself that it would be nice to be noticed, to be admired. "And you're the sweetest dork I know," she added coolly, grinning. "It wouldn't be the same if you weren't a dork."
"Orrtha's important duty is to be a complete pain in the rear," Amarathine stated decisively, her tail flicking as she realised how distant the kiin had become after Ammy's growth. It wasn't the same to be a mother whose kiin didn't see her as a friend. "Well... I have the 'fortune' of not having to worry about losing Orrtha to a boy. She's made up her mind that she's never going to be soulmated, she wants nothing to do with males, and..." she paused not sure how to word her next phrase. "She's... different."

"As am I.." Moose agreed. "I don't know what I'd do with all of that attention.. Sell it? Or maybe I could use it for crazed fan girls!" He exclaimed jokingly. "Yes. Fan girls." Moose then blushed as he was named the sweetest dork Ann ever knew. "Do I get an award? Like... a golden gemfruit?" He quickly questioned. "Thank you," He smiled. "Yes, I agree. I enjoy my dorkiness, as does Kambo." Moose felt squishable.
Moose let out a good chuckle at Orrtha's duty. He wondered if that was actually a possible duty. He then decided it was, after thinking about Nightwish. Devil Flitterkiin. "You're so lucky. I wish my Kambo was 'different'." He sighed.
"What about you?" He asked. "Have you ever thought about being soulmated?" He asked curiously.

"You get an award," Ann purred in amusement. "But I'll have to think about it first. It's not like I can just pluck leaves off of the Dryad and give you those. I'll enjoy your dorkiness in the meantime."
She paused as he commented about wishing that Kambo was different. He must not know what it's like for Orrtha... her face... she has no qualms about it, but I fear for the way other pykiin see her. She isn't like them, and I never want that to make her less than them.
"I..." Amaranthine was caught off guard by his next question, and she didn't know how to respond right away. She felt the maroon color in her cheeks getting rosier by the second. "I didn't until after I grew up. Now... I don't know. Yes. I would like to, but I'm scared. I'm scared... that I'll choose the wrong pykiin and have to be with him forever. It would be a miserable existance," she murmured, looking off into the distance as all of the horror stories she had ever heard about love came floating back into her mind.
