Okay.
Photoimpact has officially died on this computer, and I need to get the new version. I really don't have any other option.
I'd like to get an older, cheaper version of Photoshop... but according to the Adobe website, everything other than Photoshop CS3 has dropped off the face of the planet, which isn't reassuring when I think about future program updates. If CS3 didn't run for over $600, I would consider it, but PhotoImpact 11 is just as good for a sixth of the price - plus I can get a rebate on it and cut the price by 30%.
For the time being, I can use Photoimpact on the family computer, but it will be a bit of a hassle. I'll only be able to finish current projects, prizes, and commisions from summer, and I doubt that I'll be able to start any other projects until I can get things running on my computer.
I really would like to get the new PhotoImpact, but I need to keep other things in mind - Christmas gifts, band tour, and day-to-day expenditures. Not to mention that I have other projects to keep in mind, and though it's hard to admit, the Pykiin aren't at the top of the list right now. However, I really don't want to give up on this community, because everyone here has been so amazing and has never given up on me. I'm definately willing to put in an extra push and try to do some "fundraising" for the new program if possible.
I have a finished adult kitsune, a finished juvenile kitsune, and a semi-custom (you choose colors) kitsune that I'm willing to put up for auction, but I'm curious - what would you be most likely to go for if I offered it? The items towards the top of the list would be more expensive than those near the bottom, since they take more time/effort, but there would be plenty of exceptions and variations to take into account, especially for art commissions. Hand-drawn things would be easier to finish, and would generally take less time. Even if you wouldn't be able to offer USD, I would like the input.
Since all in all, the new program will cost me $70, I'll be willing to buy it if I can cover half or more of the price with art requests. I'd love to hear what your ideas are, but until then I still have other things to work on. I'm aiming to finish quite a few things today, so that I have the weight of those nearly-finished projects off of my chest.
Otherwise, I'd just like everyone to know that life has been treating me well. I may be a very busy person, but I have very little cares or worries at the moment, and I'm caught up in a whirlwind of beautiful colors and the magic of light across the earth. I feel complete and inspired, at peace with myself and determined to make the most out of the time I've been given.
I miss you all <3
