He Enters the Valley

Shiranui was happily eating a large breakfast (as he hadn't eaten in days, he was trying to restrain himself so he didn't look like a pig). He glanced up at the energetic adult who had just joined them. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Abby," he said. "My name is Shiranui, and I am indeed new here, though I can't speak for my fellows. Would you care to join us for breakfast? There's plenty to go around."

"Yeah, you'd better join us or we're all gonna be FAT!" Mandisa exclaimed.

Sara watched them, and ate her share of berries. "So, Shiranui, could you tell me about your journey? I mean, its ok if you dont want to talk about it.." She said thoughtfully, looking at him intently.

Abby shook her head in reply. "No thanks I'm not hungry." She replied happily

Mandisa pushed a vine of grapes up to Abby. "Eat." She demanded.

Shiranui smiled gently at the talk that was floating around the breakfast "table" (more like "pile"). It was great to be in a group who accepted you. He could see all the personalities from all his new friends: the quiet Yume, the motherly Addei, the helpful Sara, the energetic Mandisa and the newcomer Abby. He was happy to meet new friends, and to be welcomed without question.

Ah, well, almost without question, anyway, he thought. He turned to Sara and replied to her, "Let's finish this lovely meal you've gathered, and then go for a drink. After that I'll settle down and tell you all my story." He looked down at his fur, which still needed some cleaning up. "And perhaps a quick swim too," he added.

"SWWWIIIM!" Mandisa cried. "Yes! Water's GOOD! About the bestest thing you can retain! That's what daddy told me." She annouced proudly, scarfing down more fruits.

Sara nodded her thanks, and looked back at the fruit she had gathered. He seemed nice, and he looked amazing. Nine tails! She thought, looking up and smiling at him. She looked back down, her face puzzled. How could someone have nine tails? Did his parents have that many? She sighed, and looked up at the puffy white clouds.

Eating until he could hold no more in his belly, Shiranui felt a content drowsiness settle over him. He was almost ready to go back to sleep! But no, that wouldn't be productive for his first day here, now would it? Instead the many-tailed Pykiin got to his feet and waddled down to the pond to get a drink. And to wash the stain of berry juice from his paws and face.

Mandisa bounded after the large, tan Pykiin and leaped on to his back. Her paws stained with purple and red juices. She began gnawing on his ear and scooting about his mane. "Much more fluffier than daddy." She informed Shiran.

Sara watched the female pounce on Shiranui. She smiled, and walked calmly over to the pond. She waded chest deep into it, gently using her paws to clean the berry juice off of her white and cyan face.

Shiranui stopped still and felt little tiny teeth in his ear. He wasn't quite sure what he was supposed to do! He'd never been around kiin before. "Um, are you all right, Mandisa? That's my ear, you know," he inquired.

Sara giggled at his confused look. She waded over to him, and whispered into his ear. "Of course she is alright, she is just trying to play." She informed him quietly, smiling.

"Ohhhh, play. I see. I am apparently a good chew toy," he chuckled. Figuring it was his turn to 'play' back a little, Shiranui walked into the pond and started going deeper. Quickly the water level was climbing up his legs and his back, heading right for Mandisa.

Mandisa looked around, scared to death. "What. . " Mandisa was so preoccupied with playing with Shiranui that she didn't notice the water. She clung to him for dear life. "Deeep!"
