Okay I know this is an old series so probably everyone has already been spoiled, but I'm just picking up the series now. lol. I'm on vol. 5 of the original series.
I just have to say how sad I am that Bluestar is dead! ;_; I mean, I know she had to die, but still! Wah! I'm all teary eyed here, sitting and reading in Barnes and Noble and hoping no one is looking at me while I cry reading a kids book. XD
Don't spoil me about what happens next! *runs to pick up vol. 6*

Ahahaha, I got to the third series and then faltered badly, but I picked it up again and I'm going to get the fourth book of the third series the next time I'm at the library P:
Everyone who has read it agrees: even though it's a predictable kid series, it's good.

<3 Erin Hunter.
That is all, as I can't go blabbing about theories and such without ruining it for you two. x3
What Lina says is true; it is quite predictable, but it's still very good. Plus don't you just love being able to go "HA! I knew it!"? x3;;;

My sisters and I always do that when we watch TV shows - make fake bets on what's going to happen, who the murderer is, etc. It's weird that even when things are super predictable the plot is still fun x)

As a writer for young adults myself, I know exactly what you're saying. I look at the books from a point of view of "How is this so popular!? And how can I learn from it?" XD These books are so exciting for kids. They're full of violence and war. The amount of character deaths frankly astonishes me, but it's what is common for entertainment these days. The Warrior series lets kids explore concepts of death, war, fighting, violence, etc. while keeping it all wrapped up in a 'safe' shell of a fantasy world of cats. The pradictability is part of the safety. The Warriors series doesn't take chances in that way. I would say the Warriors series does a lot worse than anything Harry Potter does in regards to exposing children to "bad things', but no parents are up in arms to get the Warriors banned for its extreme violence, because the characters going to war and dying are not "people." It's all just cats. And cats fight all the time in teh real world, right? Very clever of the three woman writers to figure out how to give kids all the things that are most popular and exciting and taboo right now in our society, but to give it in a 'safe' way that parents won't object to as much.

All right, I finished Book 6 of the original series and started the first book in the New Prophesy set.
Hmm, I just don't know what to think about Book 6. I think they could have done so much MORE with it. It felt like a rush job to me. They had some really good ideas, especially the introduction of the evil cat from the city, Scourge. But man, what a waste! They spent almost no time developing his character. He's in literally three scenes, including his final fight in the end! That's such a shame. They could have done so much more with the blood clan.
Instead it felt like it was more of a cop out ending. That's actually what you call it in video games when you beat the final boss and there's a 'surprise' final boss after that, the one that was REALLY pulling the strings, etc. that nobody knew about. It happens so often in RPG video games that whenever it happens all the gamers are like "Aw man, total cop out." And the Warrior series did it too! They threw in a 'bigger badder villain' and for what? They didn't develop his character or his clan at all.
I am however amused at the mental image of a cat wearing sharpened dog teeth attached to his paws and his collar. How do the blood clan cats get the teeth to stay on? I picture them sitting around tying them on with difficulty, cursing their lack of thumbs. XD
