A Change For All

The four pykiin walked towards the Dryad. Eloise was near the front marveling about her new markings, Simbarynn was near the back dawdling along while looking at the sky. Cardo and Morgaine we between having a very heated debate about insects.
"No!"cried Cardo getting irritated."Morgaine, ladybugs have spots not those rolly-polly(sp?) bugs."he said with a sigh.
"Are you sure?" asked Morgaine.
"Positive."he said. "Hey look there is one now!" he exclaimed noticing a glimpse of red. He bent down and used his paw to carfully pick it up. He grumbled annoyed. It had no spots. What were the odds?
"Told you!"she jumped up and down for a moment feeling accomplished.
Cardo mumbled something to himself and then sat down on the grass by the Dryad. "Whatever Morgaine....you win....for now."
Morgaine let it drop. He was and had always been a sore loser.
Eloise sat down next to Cardo...."Think anyone will be around today?" she asked knowing Cardo was right, but not wanting to get invloved in such a petty arguement.
No one answered.

Besides Eloise none of them had ever been adults until today. All their friends were still kiin. It was like starting over. Well...not completely...they still were friends with kiin, but things were different now. They were expected to get soulmated.

Leelee yawned and looked over at Twiz then up to her younger yet adult brother, Nakao. The two kiin were slumped over the green male's tail and back, although Lee being the groggy and slightly tired one. Twiz was chipper and excited, but she remained quiet and so did Nakao.

Thinking back to this morning, there were reasons that they were making their way towards the Dryad. No one in their pounce had ever grown up, except for Nakao. And so it seemed almost the right thing to do by going with him. Anyways, she had a rather rude awakening this morning by the two of them.

"I don't think mother will handle this well if both her kiin are grown adults." Lee yawned, musing over the thought. She was tired of kiinhood, wanting to start new adventures as an adult. And, maybe for someone else too, she thought shyly. Twiz had the similar thoughts, but kept them to herself in a happy manner.

"Don't worry so much. I'm sure your mom will get over it. I hope." Twiz offered a smile. Their ride, or Nakao suddenly stopped and grinned. The two kiin looked up and over to where he was looking. "What are you little ones up too? Not heading towards the Dryad too?"

"Aww... He's still taller than me, Kiri."

The blue fairy-winged Pykiin giggled. "Of course he is, Niseka. He's an Elven."

The three of them were heading towards the Dryad. It was the second time today for Niseka and Kiriaye, but neither of them really minded making the trip again. After all, Narn had never seen the Dryad before. And as they were his closest friends (outside of the little group of Elvens in their pounce), they felt it was necessary to drag him down here as soon as possible.

"I know... But he's the shortest Elven I've ever seen!"

Narn simply rolled his eyes and swatted half-heartedly at Niseka's shoulder. It was true, though. Most of the other adult Elvens stood a few centimeters above Narn. Kelaryss was almost taller than him as a kiin, and he was sure that she would be a few inches taller than him when she grew up.

Kiriaye suddenly spoke up again. "Hey, Niseka, Narn, are there some other Pykiin over there?" she asked, squinting at the Dryad. They were still a little ways off, and since they were facing the sun it was difficult for them to see clearly.

"...I think so," answered Narn after a moment.

"Well, let's go!" Niseka said, suddenly bounding forward. Narn and Kiriaye stood there for a moment, startled, before they both broke into a run behind the orange female. It didn't take long for Narn to pull ahead of Niseka; he may have been short, but he still had long, spindly legs to help him run swiftly!

Simbarynn looked towards the coming pykiin. "Actually yes we are headed there."he said with a grin. The other three smiled at Leelee, Twiz, and Nakao. They were pleased that they were others out today.

Then their heads turned suddenly. Another group of pykiin were bounding their way.
"Nice day to be at the Dryad."said Cardo with a smile. Good, maybe now they might be able to talk about something that didn't have to do with insects.
"What are your names?"Morgaine asked all of them with a smile turning towards the two groups of pykiin. She wondered if the two groups knew each other.She had spent most of her kiinhood inside the pounce cave and rarely met anyone.

Nakao nodded with a slight twitch of his mouth; was it a smirk, maybe? "Then we will come with you, if you don't mind. I am Nakao, this little runt's older brother. And this is Twiz, she's pretty new but... she's been comfortable around here." said the male, turning around so he could show off the two kiin slumped on his back and tail carelessly.

Lee's ears swiveled forward, her eyes shooting a glance at her brother. "I hatched first, but he just grew up first- without telling me too." She added, a little irritated but her heart bubbled with sibling affection. "My name is Leelee. Nice to meet you. And yes, indeed a nice day."

A low grumble came from Nakao's throat, "Oh, seems like there are going to be more little kiin! Looks like I'm going to be babysitting for most of today. Might aswell offer you all a ride too with these guys?" Nakao inquired, his voice mixing between playful irritation and thoughtfulness.

Narn and Niseka began speaking simultaneously. "Hi, I'm--" Then they suddenly broke off and glared at each other.

Kiriaye shook her head slightly at the two of them and then smiled shyly at the other Pykiin. It was one thing to be outgoing around her friends, but quite another to be outgoing around these other Pykiin whom she didn't know.

"I'm Kiriaye, it's nice to meet you all," she murmured.

Niseka broke off her staring contest with Narn long enough to introduce herself and wink playfully at Simbarynn. "And I'm Niseka! Don't mind this one..." she poked at Narn. "He's not the brightest."

Narn wasn't really paying attention, though... He was gaping at Morgaine. At least, he was until Niseka stomped on his paw. "When you're done drooling, why don't you introduce yourself?"

Narn hissed under his breath at her, his face turning quite red, before muttering, "Uh, yeah. My name's Narn." Trying to cover up his embarrassment, he turned to Leelee asked curiously, "When do you think you'll get to grow up?"
