Jeez, summer vacation is flying by. But I'm really, really glad, actually. Once I finish my summer reading for English I'm totally ready to start school again. I just got back from England today and came home to my lovely schedule. <3 I got everything I asked for (yay!) except for orchestra, but if I don't take orchestra I'll get a lunch hour, so I'm debating. xD A-hour: Spanish I 1st: Beginning Dance 2nd: Japanese II 3rd: AP World History 4th: Mandarin Chinese II 5th: Lunch (possibly orchestra, if I switch) 6th: Honour's English II 7th: Earth Science 8th: Math Topics 5-6 I'm so excited! I'm nearly done with 1984, but then I have to read Anthem... so far the summer reading hasn't been too horrid. Last year we had to read the Hobbit, which I finished two days before school started. I detested that book. ._. Meh. Is anyone else excited for school? (Wow... I just realized, I think that there are three or four of us still in school. o.O Everyone's in college or working now! Alas. So... who's ready for fall/college? ^-^;; )

Lol, Pandie, I'm only in highschool! xD So college is in a few years for me, haha.
Oh, you have classes that I want. But... this time around, they switched out half of my art classes for health. I'm really mad about that <<
The Hobbit WAS terrible. I couldn't find myself to finish an excert of it. I haven't started reading yet (which will come back to bite me in the butt next month) but is Lord of the Flies any good? Speak was good, so I liked that book.
And no, I'm not excited for school xD

Miss Linaeve is still in school... Only for another year, though, then I'm off to MIAD (hopefully, keep your fingers crossed for me)! This summer I need to read Atlas Shrugged for a scholarship competition and The Great Gatsby and as many other classic novels as possible for AP English. I'm currently working through Emma, which isn't as terribly dry as I thought it would be. I'm going to read Speak afterwards, a friend suggested it and lots of people agreed that it was very good. Just a few weeks? We have several... we don't start until late August, and even then we're a week or two earlier than when public school starts I'm excited for school, but only because it's the last year I've got at ML, and also because I have 6 credits (semesters) of art. (<3!!!!) I'm also taking Human Anatomy, we get to go to the morgue and see corpses x)

-hasn't even unpacked her backpack yet- >.>;; I'MSOLAZY. D: Not sure if I'm looking forward to going back to school. I haven't even gone on vacation yet. D: I'm afraid of the amount of homework I'll have, because I'm taking all advanced classes again. I like having free time. t__t And, because I'll only have two of the four study halls we get to do homework in( because I signed up for my english teacher's new creative writing class. Which also kinda scares me. ;__; ), it'll probably mean more work to take home, bleh. Not that I dislike school or anything... just the homework. And being able to wake up at 10 o'clock is very nice. <3 I am looking forward to seeing my friends on a daily basis again, though. I've only been out of school for 3 weeks, and there's only about a month and a half left of Summer~ Then it's off to 8th grade, where we'll be the top of the school, bwaha. >3 ETA - As for the Hobbit, that was actually my favorite out of the Lord of the Rings series, so I guess I'm the odd one out here. x3 I guess I can't say that for sure though, since I never finished Return of the King. >.>;

This is the first summer that I haven't had free, so it's been interesting. I've been working for one of my proffessors in her lab, and we're spending a month in Sweden with her collaborator. It's been a lot of fun, as well as fascinating work, but I'm about ready to get home and have some free time. Hopefully I'll be able to get back here more regularly too.
I always look forward to school resuming, even more now that it's college. At the moment, I believe I'll be taking Physical Chemistry, Biology, Elementary Italian, and Intro to Western Civilizations, plus hopefully orchestra and independant lab work with my proffessor. I'm particularly looking forward to Bio, since that will help me decide if I want to major in Bio or Chem. The Italian should be a fun, less stressful class. I'm not too excited about Western Civ, but it's for social science graduation requirements. The lab work would be great if I can do it, especially since it might mean I'd get to come back to Sweden next summer.
I didn't care for the Hobbit either, Tolkien's style is just too wordy. Lord of the Flies is well written and not too hard to read, but it is rather creepy. At the moment, I'm reading Here Be Dragons, and next on my list is The Fountainhead. I've also recently discovered Star Trek, so that's been, shall we say, diverting.

I've never read Lord of the Flies or The Hobbit. My grandma tried to get me to read Lord of the Flies but I never got into it. That reminds me I should read Island of the Blue Dolphin. She really liked that book. I started and liked it but never got too far. Young, like 10 or so, I was busy. I love Jane Austen! I finished reading Pride & Prejudice(Yes I am late!) not too long ago and I fell in love with her style. I was told that Emma was pretty good too. So I'm thinking about reading that and I kind of want to read Sense & Sensibility. What is Speak Miss Lin? Who wrote it? You might be able to tell that I haven't had many required readings in my schooling...I really don't know why...
For the first time in all my year's of school I actually am not really ready to go back to school. I still have a little bit before I go back. I start the 25th, I believe, of August. We're going on a trip to Universal for free the 22nd and that's when I get to move up in the college world and into better dorms. I'll be with three other of my friends instead of one and we all have our own room and we combine a common living room. The next year though I'm moving into the Apartments! I'm so excited for that! That also has four seperate rooms. They share a common living room and kitchen. I'm super excited for that!
This Summer though has been pretty much filled with reading and working. I'm looking for suggestions as I'm running out of my stock of books.
