Leonardo sat down with his headphones in his paws ready to lay and listen to his latest track by Linkin Park: 'New Divide' when he was nudged by a purple Pykiin.
"Dad, What are you getting ready to listen too?" She asked him. Leo stared at the Pykiin. Dad? Was he a dad? He didn't remember having 'Kiin. He didn't remember approaching the Dryad with anyone. The look on this 'Kiin made him think otherwise though. He could see himself somewhere in her and he couldn't bring himself to raise the question of whether or not she was his, he could tell.
Right then he noticed the other 'Kiin behind her.
"Hi Dad." He said as Leo looked at him. This 'Kiin though made him wonder but as close as he followed behind the girl he couldn't exactly wonder too long.

"Well I was getting ready to listen to 'New Divide' by Linkin Park." He said, looking at the both of them trying to realize that he was now responsible for other Pykiin.
"I've heard of them. They sang 'In the End' didnt' they?" The male standing behind the female said.
"Yes. That is a very good song." He said. He now knew without a shadow of a doubt that these two 'Kiin were his. Who was their mother? Did she have another one of his 'Kiin or were these the only two?

From the branches above their heads there was a large rustling, and suddenly a second male Elven kiin dropped down lightly to the ground. His long legs let him fall and land gracefully. He was pale blue, pretty close to Leonardo's colors.

"Greetings to you, Father," said the third Elven kiin. "We've been searching for you for a while now. We're glad to finally find you." He looked at the other female and the male, his brother and sister, that he always traveled with.

"You don't seem to recognize us," he pointed out to Leonardo. "Didn't you know you had children? Are we your only children? Do you know our mother?" He shot out the questions too fast for Leo to form a reply. "We search for her as well. We would like you to help us search for her. But it seems you might not even know who she is..." He took a seat in the grass next to Leonardo and had a disapproving expression, as if he couldn't believe his father didn't know more.

As the third 'Kiin dropped from the branches Dalila walked towards him. Liam closely followed in his sister's shadow. Dalila too wondered the questions that her brother was spitfiring.
Leo felt a little cornered with the three 'Kiin surrounding him. "I didn't know about you three." He felt honesty in this case was the best policy. "Yes. My only ones." He said as he tried to go back through the questions that the male asked. "I didn't know about you guys and I don't know about your mother. I don't remember ever approaching the Dryad with any female."
Dalila felt strongly against these statements. "How do you not remember going to the Dryad? How do you not know about your own children? How do you not know our mother? You should be in love before having children."
"I agree sister." Liam spoke up from behind Dalila.
"I know and I completely agree!" He said. He didn't know how to explain it to them. He just really didn't know and how do you explain the unknown? "All I can say is that you three don't really have markings like I do. So maybe if we find an Elven female with markings like you guys have then we will find her."
He didn't like the look that his son was giving him it made him feel like a failure. He was a failure already. He didn't know he had children. He didn't remember going to the Dryad. What else about his life did he not know? He had to figure out a way to fix things.

The third Elven kiin realized he hadn't introduced himself yet, and felt embarrassed. "I'm Liir," he added to Leonardo, sharing a look with Liam and Dalila. "And I also feel like there should be something between two Pykiin before they have children... I don't know if it needs to be love, but they should at least know each other and be friends."

Liir took a seat in the grass next to Leonardo. "My two siblings and I hatched from the Dryad and didn't have any parents to look after us. We spent our kithood alone in the nursery. If our father and mother had known each other, and known about us, maybe you would have come to the nursery and helped us grow..." He smiled. "But I'm glad we found you. We have been searching the Valley, looking for our mother and father. And we're sure you are the one."

Liir looked at Dalila and Liam. "Do you think Father is right? Should we continue looking for a female that has our markings, in hopes of finding our Mother?"

"Oh!" Dalila blushed. "I'm Dalila and this is Liam." She gestured to the male 'Kiin behind her. "You would know that had you been the one to name us. We had to make up our own names. Now what kind of 'Kiin has to make up their own name?"

Leonardo listened to his 'Kiin rant about him. With each word he felt more and more like a failure. Why did this have to happen to him? "I'm sorry!" He frowned down at the ground. "I would have been there if I had known about the three of you. I promise I had no idea! Hopefully I will be able to make up for not being there when you really needed me."

Dalila felt sorry for him. He really hadn't known and if you don't know how can you possibly be there? That didn't excuse the fact but she was going to try with him. She went and sat on the other side of Leo. Liam sat next to her. His paw touching hers as they were so close.

"I am sure you three are mine as well. And I would be compltely up for helping you guys find her." He said with a sheepish smile as he looked at Dalila.

"I'm up for searching for her." Dalila said. "I think that logic makes complete sense."

Liir smiled softly. He had imagined his father would be a big, imposing figure, mysterious and hard to understand. Not this fumbling, embarrassed Pykiin standing before him. But he found he liked the true version much better than what he had been imagining.

"Well then, we should continue our search," he agreed. "I'm sure it will go much quicker now that Father is here to help us. All we have to do is find a Pykiin with markings like ours."

"Markings like yours?" a tiny, high voice said above them. Automatically Liir looked up.

A small blue female Flitterkin was perched on a large leaf in the tree above them. She had her wings spread and her head tilted up to catch the sun on her mane, seeming to try to strike the perfect pose for them.

"I know an Elven with markings like yours!" said the little blue Flitterkin. "Follow me, I'll show you right where she lives!" The little Flitter jumped off the leaf and flitted away.

Dalila was starting to stand to start the search. She was trying to figure out if there was a good place to search for her. Where would they start? She started to think of a place when the blue flitter started talking.

She stared at the Flitterkiin as she retreated. "Let's go!" She exclaimed as she followed after her. Liam got up and started to follow close behind his sister.

Leo too got up. "Are you coming?" He asked of Liir with a smile. "Maybe this female does actually know who your mother is. That would be a simple search."

Although Liir had never met this small Flitterkin before, he knew there was no one will bad intentions in the Valley. It would be safe to trust this one. "Of course, I am eager to find out what she's talking about," he told his father. "Shall we run?"

The four Elven took off after the little Flitter, who could go quite fast when she wanted to. Liir managed to catch up and keep pace with her. "Just who are you?" he called up to her as he ran. "How do you know the one who looks like us?"

Beaming proudly, the Flitter spread her swirled wings and twirled in a little circle in mid-air. "You can call me Showers," she said grandly. "I always fly about the Valley, and I always notice the beautiful Elven that are around. There's one that lives right near the Dryad. Look over there!"

Showers pointed with her front paw. They had arrived at the Dryad, and she was pointing to a little circle of trees and bushes that had grown together, making a little cave of greenery nearby.

Leo followed after his 'Kiin and the Flitter. He hoped it would be just that simple. This female could make his day if she showed them the way to his 'Kiin's mother. He was curious as to who she was. Did he already know her?

Dalila too tried to keep step with the female, who she heard was named Showers, but she was always just one step behind. Liam wasn't so lucky. He was not as fast as his sister and apparently brother. He fell behind quickly but that didn't stop him from pushing his hardest. Leo noticed the effort Liam was putting into his running. The kid had perserverence. That was most certainley a wonderful trait.

Leo, Dalila, and Liam all slowed to stand next to each other. They all displayed a very similar smile. Not one of them knew why, they just smiled. Was this really it?
