Entering the real world now

[Ebony Adara]

Rose walked doubtfully out of the cave. Her knees shaking and her throat dry. She patted her feet on the ground and took a few steps. This was her first time to have the guts to get out of the den. She felt safe and calm in there with her little light. Now the sun was beating on her like a stick. Her black fur made her very very hot.

She gulped and felt her mouth get even more dry. "He-H-Ello?" She called out, silently. Her body feeling hot as she slowly moved to a shaded area. She panted and let her tongue roll out. She shook her pelt and scratched behind her ears. Then she walked back out and looked all around herself, then walked slowly to an apple tree. So...hungry...

She reached the tree and put her paws against the tree and bit into a big juicy apple. She felt the liquid run down her neck and settle into her fur. She didn't mind at the moment. She was hungry. She took another bit and more liquid settled in. Her heart throbbing against her chest and the liquid matting her fur. She took another bite and ate three or four more apples after that.

When she was done, she looked around quickly for anything that moved and then walked slowly to the lake. She walked into the water to clean the apple juice off and quench her thirst. She dove under the water and came back up, and just floated in the water. She almost screamed when she felt fish rub against her pelt and after a fifth fish swam by she got out of the water.

She felt better now she was full and quenched. But the sun was still on her like a bee and it's honey. Her fur dried quickly and she walked into the woods. Hearing noises made her jump.

She put her ears down and walked slowly again, making sure nothing jumps out on her.

Elek had never been one to stay in the cave, and often went running around outside. When he returned to the cave and found it empty, he put his investigative skills to test. He began following the tracks left by someone and soon caught up to the other pykiin.

He held in a chuckle as she jumped at all the different sounds. He wriggled his rump like a cat before a pounce, and jumped on the black and red kiin.

"Found you!" he declared triumphantly.

Rose heard a ruffle of something and before she could turn to see what it was, a black and red kiin pounced on her. She screamed loudly as she closed her eyes and started to fight against the kiin. "Leave me alone!" She yelped. She opened her eyes and whimpered.

"Rose?" Elek asked confusedly.

How long had he been gone? He didn't think he'd been gone that long, but he had been having a lot of fun and could have easily lost track of time. Had his own sister forgotten him?

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," he replied as he hung his head low.

She turned around and heard the familar voice. "Elek?" She wagged her tail with a smile. Her smile turned to a frown. "Don't scare me like that again." She gave him a small swat, that was softer then a butterflys touch. "You know I'm scared."

Elek looked up and smiled his goofy grin.

"So where are we off to? Don't worry, I won't let anyone or anything hurt you," he replied as he stood by his sister protectively.

"I was going to look around." She said and thought for a moment. "Well, you know this place probably better then me. Wanna show me around?"

"Sure!" Elek replied as he bounded towards the stream.

Maybe they'd stumble across those kiin he always watched from afar, but couldn't get the nerve to approach.

Rose followed behind him, timidly. "So, what's this place?" She said quietly.
