Well it's now 8:30 pm and this past year we have had plans to get out on the lake to watch the fireworks. We were going to leave at 6 then at 5:30 Muffin, my 24 year old cat, messed up her leg. So I told my mom, brother and sister in law to go ahead and I'd take Muffin to the vet then meet up with them. Well it is now 8:30 and almost dark and I just got home. I ended up having to have Muffin put to sleep. Since her falling was just a symptom and not the real problem.

The choices were to have her hooked up to IV and run all sorts of tests with no idea of the out come or to go ahead and let her rest. I am going to picture her stalking her sparrows and mice now. I guess my Muffin mimic is now a memorial pykiin

Thank you all. This was the first time I could read this thread without bursting back into tears. Can I just note that it's not always fun having to be an adult. Life was a lot easier when the parents made the decisions and sent me out of the room when the sad things happened.

In this case I am the one who had to make the final decision and I held her while she went to sleep.
