It was a brand new day, and Knacker was up with the sun and already outside playing. As usual, he wandered far from home when his mom and dad weren't looking, because if he wasn't careful they would drag him back to the treehouse or follow him wherever he went to watch him. Knacker sighed. It was hard to get alone time with his overprotective dad.
Knacker made his way across the Valley and approached the Dryad. He looked up at the big, sweeping branches. He didn't often come here, but he felt at peace and decided today was a good day to play among the roots.

Camiri wandered into the Dryad's clearing completely by accident. This place was so big and confusing! Miri didn't know anything about this place. She supposed she must have hatched here, and recently, since she had no memories of anywhere else either. The big tree drew her, though, and she followed its pull without resistance. Staring up into the branches, she gasped. "So pretty," she murmered in her high, airy voice.

Cheyenne skipped through the flower feilds just left of the Dryad. "Hum..." She mused, "I wonder what's over there today?" She asked as she looked at the Dryad with bright perky eyes. She got out as often as she could for fear that it she didn't her father would turn her brain to pudding with all of his talk about water.
She gleefully continued to skip her way to the Dryad fluttering her wings every so often to take a bit of flight.

Knacker crawled under one of the raised roots of the Dryad, sniffing the deep smell of the earth. He snorted a bit as some got in his nose, and wiggled free of the root to escape onto the grass. Then he spread his wings and fluttered upwards, reaching for one of the low hanging branches.
Knacker grabbed one of the branches and hung upside down, his big fluffy tail hanging down over his head. He looked down at the grass and noticed a Pykiin. He blinked. It was a girl! A pretty purple girl with big white spots on her body. He named her Cloud Girl in his mind, since the spots on her body looked like clouds.
Knacker wanted to meet the girl, so he let go of the branch and dropped down to the grass. His dad would have flipped out if he saw, but Knacker had it under control. He turned himself over and fluttered his little wings, coasting down to the ground to land in front of her. He smiled and waved, and then noticed over her shoulder that another girl was coming closer, a pink one. He stood up on his hind legs and waved to her too.

Miri jumped, letting out a little squeak as the bright green kiin landed in front of her. She smiled brightly at him. "Hi! It's nice to meet you." She looked around, her gaze again drawn to the big tree. "It's so pretty," she murmured, almost reverently. Looking back at the kiin, she asked, "Do you live here? It must be wonderful."
When the kiin stood up and waved, Miri turned to see who he was waving at. "Oh, hello!" she called to the pink kiin, waving as well.

Knacker had learned a bit about the world as he got older, and he knew now that when another Pykiin was moving their mouth, they communicated to each other with throat noises. He also knew there was something diffierent about him, that made him unable to understand those, but he didn't let it bother him much. He had a lot more fun making up his own ways to communicate.
He followed her gaze as Cloud Girl looked up at the big tree and smiled, he could tell she liked it just as much as he did. It was a lot of fun to play in. He wondered if Cloud Girl wanted to play!
First he knew she would want to know what to call him. Knacker hopped over to one of the Dryad's big roots poking up out of the ground, where the grass didn't grow. He brushed his big green tail against the ground, clearing away a bit of space, and used his paw to write letters in the dirt. K. N. A. C. K. E. R. There, just like mom and dad showed him.
Knacker turned to Cloud Girl and waved a paw, beckoning her to come over.

((I am back from my mini-haitus. Shorter than I had expected but.. yeah.))
Karimah had been wandering around the Dryad with Kaenene, who had earlier gone off to chase a moth. She smiled at her the Dryad as she saw a familiar face. She had only met him twice, but she still considered him as a good friend. She giggled, remembering the way he cooed and pawed at her tails.
She walked foward, noticing he was with two others as well. She quickly re-considered her actions. Karimah became meek about the other two. She slowly approached, not wanting to disturb the fun they were having.

Knacker picked up his head when he saw a flash of bright yellow and a huge grin split across his face. It was Little Sun! He dipped his paw in Cloud Girl's direction, hoping she understood he meant to be right back, and bounded across the field toward her.
When he reached the pretty yellow and blue Pykiin he didn't hesitate to embrace her in a big hug. He had missed her! He gave her a grin and pawed at her tails to show her he remembered her. Then his eyes lit up. Oh, now she could know his name! He walked back toward the Dryad's root quickly, beckoning her to follow him.

Karimah watched as the bright male bounded toward her. She braced herself for a pounce, but instead was welcomed by a warm hug. She smiled and wrapped her arms around him. "I missed you!" She squealed, a bit muffled by his bright, lime green fur. She smiled as her tails were batted at. Karimah was quick to pounce on him in return and gently tug on his ear.
She watched as he began walk toward the Dryad and followed him. She stayed close behind, as she didn't want to be frightened by the other girls that were there.

Camiri blinked rapidly three times, then once more slowly. "Oh," she said in understanding, coming over to where the green kiin had scratched in the dirt. "Knacker," she read slowly, sounding out the unfamiliar word. She cocked her head and blinked several times. "What does that mean?"

Knacker led Little Sun back to the spot, smiling happily at meeting both old and new friends. He noticed she walked slower than normal, and cast uneasy glances at Cloud Girl and Pink Girl. Was she scared? Maybe she was shy! Knacker hoped she wouldn't run away.
He sat next to his spot in the dirt and saw that Cloud Girl had a deep confused look on her face as she read the word written in the soil. Knacker looked down at the word himself, then back up at her. He pointed to himself and then the word, and then himself again.

Karimah still stood as the green male sat, still very uneasy about the others. She read the letters printed in the soil infront of him. They read as Knacker. "Knacker....Knacker is your name?" She asked him quietly, thrilled to have possibly put a name to the friend.
She looked at the others. She wanted to ask who they were, but couldn't bring herself to doing so. She just remained behind Knacker, if that was his name, looking at the letters in the dirt.

Miri gave a long, drawn out, "Oh. So that's your name? Knacker." Beneath the letters, she carefully scribbled M-i-r-i. "Miri. That's me." She pointed to herself and grinned. Looking up at the yellow kiin, she said, "Hello. I'm Miri, who are you?"

Knacker's eyes lit up and he studied the letters in the dirt. Miri! Cloud Girl had her own name! It was beautiful. He leaned over and wrote it himself, just because he wanted to do it. Miri Miri. And Knacker. His tail swished happily. Knacker nudged Sun Girl with his paw and pointed to the dirt, grinning.

"Oh.. Hi, I'm Karimah," She smiled sheepishly at Miri. "I..I like your coat." She said. Kohana had always told her that compliments made a nice first impression. She slowly inched out from behind Knacker, revealing herself better to Miri.
Karimah smiled at Knacker as she nudged her to write her name. She extended a claw, and slowly wrote in sloppy, capital letters K-A-R-I-M-A-H, and pointed to herself. "I'm Karimah." She said.
