If anyone had been at the beach, they would have seen a brown Flitterkiin wandering around, occasionally stopping to examine shells or stone embedded in the sand. She had been there for almost an hour when she caught sight of a round, pale pink object lying in the sand. Not really thinking or even pausing to get a closer look at the strange object, Mintleaf crouched down, wriggled her rear end a bit, and then leaped.
Mintleaf had good aim; she landed directly on the pink thing. Sand sprayed up in all directions, including in her face and hair, but she didn't notice.
Because that pink thing was squishy, slimy, and absolutely disgusting.
"Eeeeew!" she shrieked, turning and racing into the water, as if looking for a safe place from the mysterious pink object. She didn't stop going deeper until the water was over her back and almost up to her chin.
Then she stopped and glared back at the pink thing lying innocently on the shore line.

Kilo had watched the whole show from the top of a tall tree branch not to far off from the beach. He giggled as he flew to the beach. He stood at the shore line."Hi Mintleaf!"he yelled so that she could hear him over the crashing waves.

"Hi!, Kilo!" Mintleaf called, momentarily forgetting the pink thing, though her lapse of memory didn't last very long.
"Watch out for that pink thing! It's like squishy and icky and... yeah..." her voice trailed off. Something had brushed against her leg... She frowned and ducked her head underwater, apparently looking for something. After a moment, Mintleaf came up again, letting out a little wail.
"T-t-they're in the water!" she yelped, and almost as fast as she had run into the water, she clambered out and raced past the dead pink thing on the ground. She skidded to a halt by Kilo, dripping wet and looking very afraid.

Kilo laughed. "What are these things?"he asked approuching the dead pink thing. He took a stick and started poking it with the stick.

"I dunno," said Mintleaf, shuddering slightly. "But I bet they eat Pykiin. For breakfast."
She watched Kilo poke it for a moment and then whispered, "...Be careful. What if it jumps up and tries to eat you?"

Kilo laughed."I'm sure something this small won't be able to eat a Pykiin. Possibly hurt it,but not eat it."he poked it again. Then after a moment relized it really was dead. He used his paw to scoop it up to examine it closer.

"...Oh," said Mintleaf. She didn't like getting laughed at, and if it had been Sunpaw, she would have given him a gentle swat, and if it had been Darkpaw, she would have pummeled him, but it was neither of her brothers, so she didn't know quite what to do. So she just pretended that Kilo had not laughed.
"Is it a fish?" she asked, after staring at for a moment.

"Uhh..I think so."said Kilo finally setting the fish thing to the ground.

"It's so ugly, though... And weird... Looks like a puddle of pink ooze," said Mintleaf, tentatively reaching out to sniff it. She wrinkled her nose slightly in disgust and backed away.
"So, Kilo, what brings you here?" she asked curiously.

"Boredom"he said plainly. "What about you? I haven't seen you around much lately." he said looking ou at the water.

"I was pretty bored, too. I thought I would never miss those training sessions with my parents... At least, not until I didn't have them any more! My days are pretty boring now," said Mintleaf in reply.
"So, how's life going? How is Diego doing?" she asked, trying to keep a good conversation going.

"Life's going good. Diego and I are starting to get along better now that I've been giving him more space and all."said Kilo."How's life for you?"

"Very good!" replied Mintleaf. "I haven't moved out, but I'm thinking about doing so soon. My mother wants me to live somewhere nearby, but I'd like to get pretty far away to see new things and meet other Pykiin."

"I see. It seems like lately that is the pykiin dream."he said looking out across the ocean.

"Um... Kilo... Have you been around the valley alot? Do you now it really well?" asked Mintleaf hesitantly.
She wanted to ask him for help finding a nice little place as far as possible from her parents. Mintleaf didn't know the valley very well at all; it was rather large, but she was hoping that Kilo knew it better than she did. She didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable by her asking, though.
