Eloise was running and running out of breath.She kept looking behind her to see if the creature had followed her here. Quickly she hid behind a tree. The Dryad.She stood pressed against the trunk of the tree waiting for it to pass. Nothing happened. She looked out from behind the tree. The creature moved on down looking for her. She sighed in relief and looked around. "Where am I?" she looked up at the Dryad. It loomed up above."That's one big tree."she said. Slowly she began looking around the valley. "How id I get here?"she asked herself quietly. Where ever she was she was happy it wasn't where she used to be. She found a pond nearby and drank some cool water before going back to the Dryad and falling asleep.  |

Edan padded softly through the grass, Isalair in unobtrusive attendance. That was what he liked most about Isa; she didn't intrude on him just because she wan't supposed to let him wander alone. He could almost pretend he was solitary again when she was watching him. Her twin, on the other hand...
Isa didn't mind babysitting Edan, especially when he decided to take a walk at dusk. If he'd wanted to stay inside, that might have been a different matter. They had an agreement - she didn't bother him, he didn't bother her. Togethr, they could enjoy the dusking. Isa's keen eyes picked out a figure, dark in the half-light, laying at the base of the Dryad. Calling softly to Edan, she walked over.

El was only half asleep she opened one eye afraid that Isa and Edan where the creatures following her. She jumped up when she saw there shadows. She hadn't got a clear image the creature chasing her before."Who are you?" she asked. She studied them carefully. They didn't look like the creatures chasing her. Slowly she relaxed.

Isa studied the kiin, admiring her muted colors, though some of that may have been the dim light. "I am called Isa, and this is Edan." She gestured with a delicate paw at the bright male behind her.
Edan snorted in irritation at being disturbed, especially by Isalair, but he still followed her. "Are you all right?" he asked, noting that she seemed upset by something.

"Oh. Nice to meet you, and yes I'm fine."she said deciding not to explain the chase. she slowly returned to her normal self."Where are we exactly?"she asked looking around at the Valley again. She looked up at the tree. there seemed to be something very important about it,but she couldn't tell what.

Edan snorted again and turned to go, but Isa shot him a glare and he stopped.
"You're in the Valley," Isa told the kiin. "This is the Dryad, who protects the Valley and all the pykiin." She glanced again at Edan to make sure he was behaving, but he was only grumbling to himself.

El nodded."The Valley."she whispered."Seems safe enough..." She looked over at Edan who seemed unhappy."What's wrong with you?'she asked sitting down.

"It's very safe," Isa assured the kiin, wondering why she was so concerned with safety. Isa had never been in danger in all of her short life. "Everyone is happy here." Well, maybe not everyone, but mostly everyone.
"Nothing," Edan said shortly, smoldering.
Isa glared at him and elaborated. "Edan is just used to more freedom than he has at the moment. He got into some trouble, so now he isn't allowed out alone."

"That too," Isa agreed with a low chuckle. Edan glared and looked away. "So, I assume you just arrived in the Valley," Isa continued, ignoring Edan's moodiness. "What's your name?"

"It's nice to meet you Eli." Isa smiled. "My full name is Isalair, but no one calls me that." She tilted her head, thinking. "Do you want to come with us? I know the Valley can be confusing when you're new. I was hatched here, and I still get lost sometimes," she added matter-of-factly.

"Great," Isa answered, smiling warmly. "Maybe we'll meet some more pykiin, and you might find a place to live. I'd offer my own home," she added appologetically, "but it's not just mine, and it's a bit crowded at the moment."
"You could say that," Edan muttered under his breath. Isa pretended not to hear. The orange kiin started to walk away, and Isa shadowed him with the ease of practice, smiling and nodding at Eli to join her.

El followed close behind."Finding a new home would be nice. Mostly I slept under trees where I used to live. It will be nice to have an actual den."
