I've only been home for 16 hours, and I was asleep for 11 of those but so far today I've been blackberry picking (lots of purple fingers there) blueberry picking, picked some plums, and rescued a baby bird.
I currently live on the couches of my friends (because for my sanity and the sanity of my parents I refuse to move home to the middle of nowhere) I woke up early this morning and actually ate a real breakfast, helped clean the pool, was asked to pick blackberries, also picked everything else, and was called over to a tree while my dad was mowing, where a baby mockingbird had fallen from it's nest. Unfortunately it's nest mate didn't make it...the cat got to it, and then dad, trying to get the cat away from the one he saw alive, went over the other with the lawnmower.
But I ran inside and grabbed an old towel, while Dad went to the barn and got a ladder, and we got the living baby back into the nest, the entire time, mama bird watching us carefully.
I just wish I had thought to grab my camera as I ran back outside, cause the fledgling was so cute! Still downy, but it's real feathers were growing in as well.
