((Oh goodness, I haven't roleplayed in forever and it's starting to get to me. :< This will mostly be random interaction between characters, I'll try to keep up with it but I don't know what next week will be like.))
"Alright, alright. Just stand back, Night- er... Niapharas." Stoichiometry cringed internally at the name Nightwish insisted on being called - it vaguely related to a certain experiment gone wrong back in his college days. "This is ammonium dichromate, and if you stand back a ways I can show you something really cool." He grinned at Flamepaw, who was standing nearby with an uninterested look plastered to his face.
Nightwish seemed to be torn between using an air of neutrality or excitement for the "really cool" performance. "I like its color..." she commented, unsure of what else to say.
Stoich's paws fumbled with a box of matches for a few moments - it was harder than it looked to light a match without thumbs. "Er... a little help here, Flamepaw?" He asked, tossing the matchbox to the side.
Flamepaw raised an eyebrow and surveyed the pile of bright orange dust with curiosity. "You want me to set it on fire?"
Stoich nodded overenthusiastically. His glasses fell halfway down his muzzle.
Shrugging, Flamepaw turned his attention to the orange pile, and in a split second a tounge of fire had appeared above it. The flame hovered over the orange pile for a moment, then dropped. Almost instantaneously, the ammonium dichromate started popping, sparking, glowing, and hissing. Nightwish's eyes lit up with an impressed, "Whoa!" and she stepped forward excitedly.
"Get back!" Stoichiometry growled strictly, narrowing his eyes at her from behind his half-moon glasses. "You don't have any eye protection on, and I definately don't want you inhaling the fumes."
Nightwish glared at him impetuously, but only for a moment. She quickly realised that the midget-pykiin wasn't kidding and took a step backward submissively to watch the glowing substance from a distance.
Eventually, the whole pile had burned down until it was a mossy green color, and the sparks stopped. Nightwish grinned. "That was so cool! Do it again, Stoichie!" Flamepaw simply nodded, apparently interested by Stoich's profound knowledge of so many unusual things.
"Nah, maybe another time," Stoich said, brushing the pile into a small hole and covering it over with dirt. He really wanted to teach them about elements - real elements, not the goofy earth, air, water, fire stuff - but figured that it would be akin to breaking down their culture. The pykiin - well, the pykiin that he had to call his own people now - were an interesting sort.

Warrior and Abbi had been taking a walk when the spastic Abbi heard the popping. She searched around. "Did you hear that?" She asked her brother. "Hear what?" He frowned at her. "Youa re hearing things.
She jumped around in circles until she could see the flames. She ran over. "What was that?!" She screamed.

"Calm down, ma'am!" Stoich laughed good-naturedly, holding up one paw. "We were performing a small experiment with ammonium dichromate, but it's not going to hurt anyone." He stood and faced the forest-green female with wide eyes and a smile that stretched from one end of his face to the next. "I'm Stoichiometry, I don't think I've met you two before."

Abbi laughed at him. He said funny long words.
"No. I think we haven't met either." Warrior said with no expression. "I am Warri-" "He's Warrior my annoying big brother and I am Abbi." Abbi said interrupting her brother.
He glowered at her.

"Why are you laughing, Abbi?" He tilted his head to one side, then his pupils rolled upwards in a thoughtful look. "Did I forget to zip up my pant... oh wait, we don't wear pants here. I'm not sure I want to think about that fact for too long. Hmm... I know I forgot to shave this morning... but pykiin don't shave either. Well, then, the only reasonable answer is that you're laughing at me because I'm hideously ugly." He looked back to the siblings with a giddy little smile.

Abbi couldn't help but laugh extremely hard. This new Pykiin was funny and quirky. Warrior held back a laugh. His face showing it.
"I was laughing at you funny long words. I've never heard of Ammonium dichrodinistic..." She continued to laugh. "Whatever you said."

Stoich caught a smile on the corner of the stern one's mouth and grinned even wider (if that's indeed possible). These pykiin sure did laugh more readily than his former sudents had.
"Funny long words? Why, the world is made out of funny long words. I'm sure there's some chlorophyll under your paws and some nitrogen in the air you're breathing. And don't even get me started on 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene..." he faltered, quickly running out of fun Chemistry words to throw at them.
"But really, you probably won't find any ammonium dichromate around here, and I fear for you if you do. It produces carcinogens... though something tells me there's no such thing as cancer here," he mumbled. He hadn't even come across a pykiin with the common cold in the few weeks he'd been in the Valley, though he had heard of one who was blind.

This Pykiin made no sense to Abbi and she kind of liked it that way. He was extremely funny whether he was trying to be or not. "I can't understand a word you say." She laughed. "I can't even attempt to say half of those words."
Warrior however who talked to Angie knew a few little things. But still not too much. This Pykiin was almost speaking a different language. "Cancer no." He said. "Gladly!"

Seri caught the last few words as she passed and walked over. "No cancer," she confirmed, recognizing the word from speaking with Raenia. "What ailments do occur are easily taken care of by an advanced water elemental." She smiled at the small, studious, and slightly awkward looking pykiin. "My name is Serisai, and I myself am an earth elemental."

Stoich's attention shifted to the newcomer as she began to speak about cancer, and he seemed completely overwhelmed by the information she revealed. "A pleasure to meet you, Serisai," he nodded respectfully. "My name is Stoichiometry, and where I come from I'm very educated in the ways of science."
He thought for a moment about what she said, his eyes getting wide as he ruled off all the diseases and sicknesses he could possibly think of. "So basically... this place is a utopia," he said in disbelief. The full realisation hit him like a shockwave... no suffering. "Good Lord," he whispered, more in reverence than anything.
"So these water elementals you speak of... how exactly does all of it work? I mean, there must be some complex scientific progress behind it, either that or this entire place is a miracle." Or a dream, he added to himself, thinking back to the human life he had once led. Linaeve, one of his former students, had explained some things in great detail. He had learned that the other life still went on, he was just detached from it as a seperate entity in a separate realm. It was very confusing, but he had noticed that the child had also taken on a slightly different form when she brought him to the Valley, and that her name in his realm was not the same as her name in the Pykiin realm.
There was so much he couldn't understand.

Chase slapped his wide tail end on the ground as he flicked it up and down in a, slow water like movement. His steps were slow and fluid as he approached the small gathering. Overhearing the last statement of the littler Pykiin he cocked an eyebrow, “Scientific progress?” He questioned the two words, “What do you mean?”
He carefully placed himself at a safe distance from the others, not too far away so he could still be seen and heard, but not right next to any of them either.
He gave each one a friendly look studding each face and thinking, I ought to get out and meet others more. His expression was calm waiting for a response.

"Nice to meet you, Stoichiometry." She smiled and nodded to the odd pykiin. "I can't speak for the workings of water, but would you care for a demonstration of earth power?" As she spoke, a thin green tentril wound up his leg. Such a small magic barely required her focus anymore, simply a thought and a direction. A trio of leaves unfolded at the tip of the plant, under Stoichiometry's nose. "I'm always happy to oblige, at least with small demonstrations."
Seri glanced over in the direction of the new voice. "Do join us," she called over. "The more minds on a question, the better the discussion."

Stoich was stunned. No, not stunned... he was flabbergasted.
"There is no possible way that science could explain that," he whispered, his eyes wide as they peered through his spectacles to observe the three leaves which had unfolded before him. His mind wandered back to the child - how had she found such a place? All of this could only be the work of one person, one entity... He kept silent. He was too timid to speak his mind about religion among those he didn't know.
Nightwish came pushing past Stoich pompously. "I came from another world too, ya know." She flipped the conversation on its side in an instant, thirsty for attention. "That's why my name ain't Nightwish, that's just what everyone calls me. My real name is Niapharas Witellium."

Seri smiled down at the plant affectionately. "Clover is so easy to work with. Quite eager to please, really."
"There might be an explanation," Seri mused aloud. "Somehow manipulating free energy with the mind..." she trailed off, eyes gazing beyond her surroundings as she pondered the new idea.
Shaking her head to clear it of philosophy, she smiled at Nightwish. "Do you prefer that we call you Niapharas, then?" she asked the imperious kiin. "While I am from this world, my guardian, Raenia, is known by another name in the world from which she originates. Shifting worlds seems fairly common here."

Stoich sat down slowly, his heart warming as he watched Serisai smile fondly at the plant. They had connections to their elements, that was obvious. He grinned inwardly as his mind played with the notion of him having an element... plutonium, perhaps? He did like neon...
"I've never seen anything remotely like this where I come from," Stoich said plainly. "It's just against the laws of nature. Single cells are not supposed to form that quickly, much less millions upon millions of them."
Nightwish had a volley of retorts planned, but they all fell flat when Serisai answered calmly. She was used to people getting irritated with her, and wasn't sure what to do when they didn't. "Er... no, I like Nightwish when I'm here. I'm half fairy, though, and half imp," she smiled as she bounced on her toes.
"You just told me you wanted to be called Niapharas," Stoichiometry said, raising an eyebrow. "Why the sudden change of heart?" He gave Nightwish a playful noogie, knowing full well how little 'imps' behaved. He'd had a few of his own a long while ago.
Stoich took Seri's words to heart. "Not a lot of pykiin seem to shift, though," he commented. "And why do some humans stay humans when they shift, but some of them become pykiin? I think I saw my studen- er, my pounce owner as a cat here once, but she can stay human if she wants to. Everything seems just so free-form, as if you can do whatever you dare to dream up."
