(( I figured a few people might be interested in something like this. ^^ )) Noel Aurora: i69.photobucket.com/albums/i50/Chem_Gal/Normal200/NL217.pngNorthern Lights: i69.photobucket.com/albums/i50/Chem_Gal/God/G6.pngEggies: Noel Aurora cooed at her lovely eggs. Sure she had had a few other children already, but these were special. She gently rubber the front of her beak against the slightly larger egg. Hearing the pulse of the little chick made her heart year for it to hatch. Carefully she turned both eggs back onto their sides, she learned that it was necisary to rotate them to keep the heat distrubution even. A little shrill left her voice as their father entered. Northern Lights strode towards his love and first children. They were to be his pride and joy.

i69.photobucket.com/albums/i50/Chem_Gal/Moonfoal/MN98.pngGalades' hooves clattered on stone and loose scree as she carefully made her way up the side of the cliff face. Her azure wings were half spread to balance herself, but she was saving her energy and trying not to fly unless necessary. Although her breath was a little short at this altitude, and she told herself wyly that she probably wasn't in the best of shape. Which wasn't healthy for the foal she wanted in the future, that was something to keep in mind.... Coming to rest on a semi-flat piece of land, Galades halted and decided it was time for a break. Her thick legs held her graceful body steadily as she looked out over the landscape, admiring the view she had gained from her climb. The shrill cry of another living creature brought her head around and she looked around with her dark blue eyes, trying to find the source. Did some other Skyreel have their nest up here?

Northern Lights smirked at his eggs and turned slightly as he prodded the edge of the cliff. His heavy step was evident when his impenetrable talons pierced the rock that he trod on. The dark feathers that covered his body frilled in the short breeze and he shook his overwhelming sized body. The feathers on his tail twitched, and he flicked them in a slow manner. They dangled from the end of his tail almost like that of a phoenix’s.
Taking a large step he spread his wings and became ready to take flight. Letting a soft twitter his powerful back legs lunged his massive frame forward and into the air. NL’s wings caught the oncoming breeze and spread catching the gale.
Noel watched as he left then went on twiddling with the small eggs. She wondered what surprises were held within these two packages, whether the feathers they had collected worked or not, or if she would have daughters of sons. Her gaze was filled with love as she looked upon them. The fact that someone could be close by never crossed he thoughts. Her nest was remote, but there was always that chance.

Galades planted her hooves firmly in the loose dirt, keeping from panicking as a huge shadow fell over her. Her heavy beak rose up into the air as she looked skyward. Above her head was the shape of the largest Skyreel she had ever seen. He stood out starkly against the bright blue sky with his black plumage.
Curiosity got the better of her and she saw the ledge just above where he had lept from. It seems like there's someone up here after all... she thought to herself. Well, better to appear a welcoming neighbor than a thief sneaking up on a nest, yes? Galades decided it would be safer to announce her presense, rather than have a nesting couple think her an intruder. She spread her short wings and flapped them strongly, catching the gusting wind that flew up the side of the cliffs.
Flight wasn't as easy for her heavy frame as it had been for the beautiful male who just sailed off, but she spiraled in a few tight circles, catching the air under her wings and climbing higher into the sky. In a moment she had spotted the ledge the large male had taken off from, and she glided down to the spot, her dark hooves hitting squarely, leaving round marks in the dust.
Hastily Galades folded her wings and ducked her head, not wanting to appear threatening. "Good wind and smooth flight to thee!" she called out, opting for an ancient peaceful greeting. "May I know the name of whom resides within?"
