Nuri had known nothing but love from both of her parents, but as she got older, she wanted to venture out, find herself, and learn on her own. This was a wonderful trait, however her mother could not be more pushy about fire, 'Fire is a wonderful power'. 'You were born to be a fire Element', and her favorite, 'Fire is only misunderstood by those who do not control it.'. She was sick of hearing the same lines all the time, even though her mother meant well.
Fire was indeed a wonderful element, however did she really understand the other options? Did it really matter right now? The only thing she knew for sure was that the questions were driving her mad, and she needed a break from her mother.
While Pele slept, Nuri climbed quietly, and as fast as she could out of the den, that they shared, with Flamepaw and her siblings. She did not want to have to explain to her mother that she needed some time to think. As she reached the ground, she thought about her plan once more, then headed to wards the Dryad, where lots of Pykiin always seemed to gather. She was sure to find someone to talk to and befriend there.

It was late out, maybe a tad too late for Elijah to be away from home. Elijah turned towards the lake as he stood next to the Dryad. The water shimmered and shined beneath the glow of the moon. He was a deep thinker, and enjoyed watching sunsets. Though from the get go you would have never thought he used his head. Elijah was fond of fire, it was his favorite element. Elijah hadn’t understood why his mother chose Earth over Fire, and he cringed every time he heard, Hon, everyone has a different calling to a different element.
Nothing could change his feelings towards Fire, not even the fact that it was destructive if you hadn’t understood what you were doing. Eli smiled as he pictured himself being able to control it, maybe one day he would obtain the power he longed for.

The newest additions to the Jade Pyle-O-Pykiins were sitting outside their den near the Dryad. Emerald was sitting inside, watching them from the entranceway.
The whole crew of new ones were there, Peri, Helios, Orion, Tarra, Endy, Ahava, and Asa.
Peri and Ahava were making daisy chains, while the boys were playing Tag. Tarra who was daydreaming looked up as Nuri approached.
"Hiya," Tarra said happily, but in a dreamy sort of way.

Nuri was a little more scared then she thought she would be, as the night was darkening the sky quicker than she thought it would. I must be strong, she thought to herself, as she continued to walk to wards the Dryad. Thinking about how her mother would react to her not being int he Den when she awoke in the morning. "I guess I shouldn't think about it too much" She said out loud, hoping that would get rid of the bad feeling in her stomach.
As she reached the Dryad she noticed that her suspicions were correct, there were other pykiin there. She wandered closer to them, and gave a little smile at the hi she received. "Nice night to think" She said to the group.

Eli slowly turned to face the black 'Kiin. She was in fact quite the beauty, and he seemed to be at a loss for words as he looked her over. "Eh... er... Hello, I'm Elijah, and you are?" He asked in the most questionable way. Elijah wasn't usually so bashful, in fact he was normally quite outspoken with the others in his pounce, but maybe that was just because he had spent the first few weeks of his life surrounded by them.
"It's a terribly nice night to think on." He added, "As to what you are thinking about would determine how nice it exactly is though." Eli was starting to sound philosophical now and he hadn't meant to, but sometimes it just happened. He nodded sat hoping it would encourage her to do the same.

((Midnight here so I am off to bed, but will be back int he morning to reply again))
"Elijah, nice to meet you, I am Nuri." a smile on her face, at this first introduction that was not made by her mother. "I know what you mean, but no matter what I think about, it should not reflect my thoughts on the night." Nuri added, sounding more like her mother than she had meant to.
She went and sat down close to Elijah, waiting for the others to speak as well. She had not really had the chance to speak in a group, so she didn't know how this worked. She decided to ask Elijah a question, "Were you born in the Valley?"

Elijah nodded his head, "Yes, my fater is Faloreth, and my mother it Danita. You are Flamepaw's daughter are you not?" He asked having already a slight clue as to who she was. It hadn't bugged him that he was from a family were both parents didn't have the same element, actually it made things qute interesting.
He wondered why she would have ventured out so late, it really hadn't made much sense to him. Eli looked around at the other 'Kiin, weren't their parents worried about them? He knew that if he stayed out too late his mother would have a fret, but he hadn't worried too greatly about that as his mother was somewhat high strung, and freaked about nearly everything.

Tarra nodded.
"I think a lot," Tarra replied in her dreamy way. She smiled at Elijah and walked over slightly closer.
Just then Morpho walked up to the group of kiins and smiled.
"Helios, Endy, Your fathers are looking for you," Morpho said to two of the young kiin.
"See you guys later!" Helios said quickly before flying away.
"Night guys," Endy said as he began to walk away in the opposite direction.
Morpho watched the two leave then walked over to Tarra.
"It's almost bedtime, don't stay out too late," Morpho said as he nuzzled his daughter and walked to the den where Emerald was moving towards the leftover kiin to round them inside.
"I was born here in the valley, all us kiin were," Tarra said. "That was my dad, my mom lives somewhere else in the valley with my sister."

Tamarai wandered up to the Dryad, hoping to find a friend to talk to. She was more than a little tired of her elaborate tree home. Yes, it was sonderful, but who'd want to spend all their time in one place, however nice? Well, her mother did, but Marai didn't understand it. She liked to see the Valley, and meet people, and do things, not sit around and think. So boring.
Marai smiled when she saw several other pykiin standing around the Dryad. She walked up to the others, and introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Tamarai, but you can call me Marai. Everyone does. What are you talking about?"

Nuri answered Elijah's question with a face of confusion, "Yeah I am Flamepaw's daughter." She was confused at how she felt being know in the Valley before she was even really introduced. She turned to Tarra, "Yeah I was born in the Valley as well, I love it here." This she knew for sure. The Valley was always inviting.
As the newcomer to the group introduced herself, Nuri barely caught her name, "Hello Marai." She had caught what she preferred to be called though, "We were just talking about it being a nice night to think, and that most of us were born here in the Valley." She forgot to introduce herself, just figuring that everyone knew her.

"It is a nice night," Marai agreed, looking up into the Dryad's leaves. "A very nice night to get away from home, and Mom. I love my home, but it's a bit crowded for my taste." Tamarai tilted her head and regarded Nuri with a look of concentration. "I should know you, shouldn't I?"
"I was born in the Valley too," Marai added. "My parents have been here forever, they're elementals." She made a face, saying, "I get tired of seeing their elements everywhere, and not getting a taste of the others. I won't know what to choose if I ever get to become an elemental."

Nuri looked shocked, "You don't know who I am? Thank God." She may be shocked, but she was also pleased, that she could introduce herself. "Well my parents are Pele and Flamepaw" She smiled, "I know what you mean about the elemental powers." She sighed softly, not wanting to elaborate.
"So what elements do your parents control?" She asked, hoping that this was a good way to shift the conversation just a little. It also allowed her a little insight into other elements.

"Well," Marai hedged, "I thought you looked familiar, but I'd never met you, so why should I know who you were?" Suddenly she registered Nuri's pleasure. "Oh, you mean everyone usually knows you because of your parents? That would be annoying. No one knows me until I meet them, unless their a friend of my parents. What's your name?"
"Mom is earth, and Daddy's air. I like both of their elements, but I've never met a water or fire elemental, so how am I supposed to choose when I grow up?" She forcibly stopped and took a breath. "What about you? It must be stifling in a fire household, especially if you aren't sure you like fire that much yourself."

"My name is Nuri, Sorry, never ran into many pykiin who don't know me." She felt like a dork for a moment, then said softly, "It does get annoying, but you can't choose your parents right?" She loved them, that was for sure, she just didn't know about the fire element for herself.
She suddenly stopped, "I don't think I said I didn't like Fire, but yes a fire den is a hot one indeed. Mom says she wants me to be fire, but I am not sure yet." She thought about Earth or Air, then asked, "Earth and Air are ok, why wouldn't you want to be one?"
((She never actually said outloud that she was not wanting to be a fire those were just thougths))

((I know, Marai just thought she might not have decided yet, so she put the option there.))
Marai smiled. "I don't mind, it's nice to meet people without Mom right there, introducing me and telling me how to act. I can understand your frustration, it must be tons worse for you." She gave Nuri a sympathetic look.
Tamarai shrugged, undeterred. "Even if you loved fire, it would probably be interesting in your den." Thinking about Nuri's question, she added, "I don't have anything against Air or Earth, I just want to understand all my options and not feel pressured into a decision." She sighed. "Mom doesn't say anything, but I know she hopes I'll be Earth like her."
