After all, didn't he acknowledge your supremacy in the water element?" Maldea was confident about that, at least. She wasn't nearly so certain about swimming. She remembered that Remiels were built for water, they even had fins. Rodeli, on the other hand, were meant to stay on solid ground. Still, she followed Hope down to the pond.

Mizu walked up to Hope, "Hello, Hope. What do you mean, Squidface?" He asked, overhearing her previous comment.

" I mean that rude, hot-tempered Davy Jones that lives in the pond. I'm trying very hard to just ignore him and enjoy the water even with him in there," she responded to Mizu." I love your inthusiasm Maldea. Now let's go down to the pond and swim." With that, she ran to the pond, and gracefully dove in and let the water surround her.

Mizu's eyes widened in horror, "There is a mean Pykiin living in the pond? Oh no, I need to go tell Yooso, Jimen, and the other members of my Pounce to stay away, then. Really, it's their favorite place to play. This is problematic." Mizu sighed, and followed Hope.

"Hope went in the pond, so I guess that's where we're going too." Maldea sighed. "That's ok, I'm sure Hope can keep Davy Jones under control." She practically spat his name, having joined Seri and Hope in disliking the crude pykiin.

Hope came up to the surface to take a breath "No Davy Jones anywhere around here." She looked around at everyone just sitting there waiting "It's okay to come in now."

Maldea came up to the edge of the water and looked into it doubtfully. "Are you sure about this?" she asked of no one in particular. "Maybe rodeli just aren't meant to be in water."

"Don't worry about it. Once you get in you'll love it! All you need to do is get in and then kick your paws so you can move through the water." Hope reassured her.

Maldea glanced at Buddy, Honeydew, and Mizu, before looking back at the water. "Well, here goes nothing," she muttered to herself. Then she carefully stuck a paw in the water. SHe immediately pulled it out again with a yelp. "It's cold!" Nonetheless, she put the paw back in, and followed it with her second front paw. All her weight was on her hind legs, and her tail was stretched out for balance.

Maldea took a deep breath and deliberately overbalanced, tumbling into the water. SHe resurfaced, gasping, with a strand of waterweed draped over one ear. "Ok, I think I'm done now," she said, shivering, as she started back to the shore.

Just as Makdea jumped into the water, a small blue blur passed by and dove in himself.
The water grew still from the place where the ripples expanded from then not, but 10 feet away a small head surfaced, It was Pursuit and still located on shore was Chase hsi bonded.
