The Story behind her name
As you step into a large clearing of trees, the darkness of the Northern night overwhelms you, and leaves you feeling empty. A slight breeze ruffles your sweater and hurls your hair around your face. No where can you see another being, and if there were any near by, you wouldn’t be able to tell. You begin to feel cold, and shiver a little as you inhale deeply and exhale, letting your exhaust fly free.
“Have you ever wondered why the Northern Lights can be called by two names?” A profound voice called out in the darkness, nearly startling you “Or even how they got there in the first place?” The voice echoed several times before it picked up again, “To be frank the legend is ancient and many are forbidden to retell it.”
You can now feel another presence near, but you are unsure as to what exactly it is. A sudden flash of green distresses you, and now you can picture a creature. It’s not too large, and it appears to sport fins and a large fish tail. Along with its fishy details you can faintly see a large pair of wings. It’s some sort of mutated bird from the looks of it. You call out, “Who is there?” as the light fades and everything returns to the state it was originally.
The voice returns, “Be not afraid young traveler, I wish to do no such harm to you. I just wish to relay a tale. One that is much bigger than your imagination can bear.” The creature stops approaching you and impedes near a tall pine tree. Its voice is gentle, most likely one of females and as it speaks the legend calls out to you, maybe you should hear the account for your own ears, but do you dare?
You sit on a nearby stump and take a deep breath hoping that this creature will keep his or her word and not bring harm upon you. You let a deep sigh out and respond, “I would like to hear of this profound tale that you speak of.”
The voice echoes back, “Some how I knew you would be inquiring.” As the voice chuckles you stay attentive, “In the beginning, before light or dark, there were two tribes,” it began, “The Kinguyakkii and the Tungulria, the two tribes feuded constantly so it was no wonder they both shared a sacred hatred for one another.” The creature took a heavy breath and continued, “In the Village of the Tungulria, their king or the Ataneq contained a prodigy, the one that would ‘save’ his people, his daughter Noel Aurora. Unlike most of the beings in her tribe, she was nearly pure white, her eyes were a deep crimson, and she barred many frail markings that were streaked with many different colors. A kind and tender souls she was, and though she hated her father for keeping her in, she somewhat understood his reasoning. She was unusual, and in order to keep her safe, her father needed to know of her where about at all times.” The voice stopped as the creature tried to explain the clan, “You see, the Tungulria, were a violent people, they structured themselves on strength and strength alone. Many of the Tungulria were deep dark pitches of black, blue, and on occasion red. They bore many markings, but none were delicate or weak. They’re claws were as sharp as daggers, and one swipe could easily render you useless. Not all of the Tungulria were as such, many believed in a Goddess that would someday save their beings from the destructive and vicious ways of the tribe, but masses of them had given up on this fantasy and had returned to the ways of the others. As days turned to years Noel grew tired of only being kept inside, she wished to be able to romp in the snow with the other of her kind, and she longed to be recognized by her people, the people that had crowned her father as king.”
You listen carefully not wanting to miss a single detail. As your eyes adjust to the darkness once again a flash of blue sounds and you are once again rendered blind.
“All it took was an outbreak of a deadly disease to seize the life of her father and mother to force her to lead the Tungulria people. Noel wasn’t a born leader, and the fact she had been so sheltered her entire life hadn’t given her any sort of experience. The young Tungulria was required to hand the thrown to the next blood line and was forced out of her Village. Noel was left out in the darkness with no clue as to where to go, let alone how to survive. There was no one left for her and the fear of the Kinguyakkii tribe was hung over her as the time passed. It wasn’t long before she was searching through the wilderness for others like herself, those who had been banished, ones that were as unloved and unadorned as she was.” The creature took a breath and laid itself along the front side of the tree, she quickly preened her long elegant feathers and then began again.
“Until though, the day she came upon a Village, this town was tremendously small and it may or may have not had more than thirty-five inhabitants. Noel was naive and hadn’t known the signs of a Kinguyakkii Village, but this was definably one of the many that occupied the forest. She ventured close to the tiny town and so she wasn’t spotted cowered behind the snow dunes. Noel blended in almost perfectly, with an exception of her gentle markings, she was a faultless pure white. It wasn’t long though before someone caught a glimpse of her bright markings, and ventured near by. Lights as they called him, son of the Ataneq of the Kinguyakkii Tribe, Normally Northern Lights wouldn’t have been so intrigued by the seemingly unnoticeable globs of rainbow that seemed to dance among the snow dunes as Noel breathed. He was large for such a young age, and his brilliantly deep black pelt made it seem as though he would never fit in among the surrounding wonderland of white. As he approached Noel he spread out his large feathery wings in hopes that if what he was about to come in contact with would be frightened of his massive size. Well, it worked, and he soon has Noel cowering even more so that she was before….
I'll have to edit it soon, after I think on it more

@ryuu- Thanks the stroy as is took me almost two days to write. I had a problem with remebering all of the thoughts I was atempting to put into it. xD
I think out of all of the Pykiin that were born this season, I am especially proud of her. She was exactly what I wanted, and I'm just glad I won't need to get a custom. (I originally had a plan to get her as a custom)

Just a note for Miss Aurora: I saw at the post office they have a pack of stamps now that have all auroras from all around the world! You should find some so she can see her namesake.
