I just got a phone call from my parents telling me they're coming back from Texas early. They left yesterday to go visit my brother and sister-in-law and weren't going to come back until Wednesday.
Well, my Pastor, Bro. Gayle, had a stroke yesterday. He's in the hospital and while it doesn't look good, it's not too bad either. He can't speak or write, but he can understand words spoken to him.
He's been my pastor since before I came to college, and is one of the reasons I prefer to go home for church than go here in my college town....the churches here are just too big and seem too impersonal, so I haven't found one I like.
And I'm still suffering from a stomach bug (day 3) so I don't want to go to the hospital where I might infect people. Even though I really want to go see him and check on him and his wife Mrs. Sue.
So if you pray, please pray for the Riles family, and if you don't, then please just think happy thoughts their way.

I will definately be praying for your pastor, as well as his entire family and congregation, during this hard time.
I sympathize with you. One of our old pastors, who was much loved and had a very strong faith, passed away of cancer when I was younger. He will always be remembered.

We've only had one other pastor I really connected with, and he left our church to be a missionary to Brazil. He was the pastor that baptized me, and his wife taught me how to play the piano. My family is really close to all of Bro. Gayle's family, even his grandchildren
