I can't wait to graduate so i can settle down and have a family. I'd probably want one now, but I can't imagine juggling school, work, and a baby

Chesh I am a young mother too. I had my daughter a month after I turned 19. No matter what age you are your first child is always the learning one. This si the one that you will learn how to be a mother.

I really hope my boyfriend will become more than that one day. He's such a sweetie, and kids love him. I know he'll be a great father

Guess what! I may be old now but I too turned 19 only a month before I had my first cub. So I was a young mom too. You're very lucky to have your partner standing by you in this too... I was a single mom for nine years and only got married a year and a half ago. Sometimes it was fun but mostly it was hard. Having another child now with a partner is an amazing learning experience for me. It's hard to let him help because I'm so used to doing everything myself. I was nowhere near as 'together' as you are, I think you'll do wonderfully. Just remember like PonyMama said, it's all about learning, and they make such wonderful little teachers too.

all this talk about babies makes me want one, especially after babysitting this weekend, and the little boy was an angel...though, from the stories about me and my brother if i have a boy i might have to abandon it just kidding, i would NEVER do that...but my brother was a ring tailed tooter, and I feel for my sister in law if they have boys whenever she starts having kids

*laughs* Children are heaven and hell all wrapped up into a bundle. One moment you're grinding your teeth and wanting to rip your hair out and smash your head into the wall and the next you're melting into a puddle of mushy love. I will never regret having any of them despite the trials and tribulations they've put me through, but I would say... definitely wait 'till you're done school if you can. Balancing cubs, a job and school is just impossible. Two of those at one time is about all I can manage and even then, so much of what was in my life before has fallen by the way side. For the first five years of their life they need almost 24 hour (and when they're really little it IS 24 hour) attention. They're a huge responsibility/honour, but waaay worth it.

So I've heard, I love their smell...people think I'm crazy, but I love the baby smell.
I want to wait til I'm married as well. My parents who are devout southern baptists would be appalled otherwise, and well, it's been ingrained in my brain like that as well.
but while I wouldn't mind having one right now, we're definitely going to wait

Yeah my granny in Virginia is SB and I'm sure she wasn't too impressed when my first cub was born out of wedlock BUT at the same time, she loves kids so, we kinda snuck in under te radar with mostly a stern glance followed by hugs. ;D I think you're making a wise decision in waiting though.

I know children are so special. Cept the 24 hour attention can get to some people! ^.^ *hugs you both* I love my child, he is relatively quiet for most parts but, when he cries....he cries!
You're right, its funny how we are older, and have more experience than they have now but they are the teachers and we are the students. I must say, Im really glad that I have a lot of people here to talk to. ^.^

*grins and hugs back* Oooh, mine was quiet at first too, now at 9 months he's a crawling and into everything riot. We should make a baby picture posting thread, that is, if you felt like sharing. Or we could just take over this thread with the pics!
