No. You can come and be yourself for a minute. Mardi thought towards Mystery in a mean tone.
I am always myself. SHe thought as she pouted.
Yeah and I'm the Gingerbread man. He thought sarcastically.
Myster propped down beside a tree and started pawing at the ground. Mardi flew down onto her shoulder and layed himself down.
"It's a lovely night tonight huh?" He asked looking up at the very clear sky.

Camiri walked quietly along the treeline, enjoying the chilly air and the hint of promised warmth to come. She shivered in the occasional sharp breeze. When she saw another kiin ahead, her steps didn't slow or quicken. She just tilted her head consideringly, trying to decide what to do. Eventually she realized that she was close enough to speak, so she should probably do so. "Hi!" she said, smiling sweetly. "It's a beautiful night, isn't it?"

"I just asked that same exact question." Mardi smiled at the newcomer. "I am Mardi and this is my Pykiin companion Mystery."
Mystery bowed her head down into her paws. Mardi pecked her shoulder. Would you get some manners please!
"I agree it is a very nice night" Mystery replied.

"Hi Mardi and Mystery! It's nice to meet you both. My name's Camiri, you can call me Miri." The pink-painted girl smiled at the pair, a little confused by Mardi's behavior, but she just assumed she wouldn't understand. "So what brings you out tonight? Just enjoying the air?" Miri had no better reason for her wandering, but it came to her that most people usually had reasons for being out at night.

Miri tilted her head at the odd pair, sensing that something was going on beneath the surface. She didn't expect to be able to understand, but she thought one of them, or maybe both, were trying to hide something. Her brow furrowed for a moment as she tried to decipher what was going on, but she quickly gave up. What business was it of hers anyway?
"Would you rather be alone? I didn't mean to disturb you." She smiled appologetically at the pair.

Miri brightened as Mystery got more friendly. She settled down beside the grey kiin, looking up at the sky. Turning toward Mardi, she added, "I hope you don't mind either. I wouldn't want to be a bother." Her eyes moved back up to the night sky. "So, have you been bonded long? It must be nice to always have a friend to talk to."

"We've been bonded as long as I can remember." Mystery said. "He's always been there."
"Hah!" Mardi sniffed. "It would be nice to always have a friend to talk to."
Mystery started to realize that her and Mardi had such a complicated relationship. She hoped she could find a way to fix it one day.

Miri smiled at Mardi. "Thank you." Looking back at Mystery, she said, "It must be nice, I wish I had a friend like you do." Finally registering Mardi's words, she blinked furiously, concentrating fiercely. "Wait, don't you get along? You're not friends?" The idea that a bonded pair might not be friends had never occured to her, and she wasn't sure she understood it.

"We get along sometimes." He said knowing that he had confused Miri. He didn't mean to confuse her he just hoped to send a message to Mystery. "When she decides she wants to be nice."
"Mardi you are such a bother!" Mystery huffed. "I am nice all the time."

"Oh." Mardi's words still didn't completely make sense to Miri, but she didn't really mind. She did think it was nice of him to try to explain, though. "I think you're nice," she told Mystery. "You're both nice. Don't be upset," she said with concern. Both of them were acting oddly toward the other, and she was unhappy that they were unhappy.

"No, not at all," Miri protested, looking stricken. "I wouldn't think anything terrible like that! You're both very nice. I mean, I don't understand everything, but that doesn't matter." She looked from one to the other, wanting to make sure they understood her. To Mystery she added, "Thank you, but I'm not anything special."

"Every Pykiin is special." Mystery said to Miri. Then looked at Mardi to state, "Some more than others and the Pykiin or bondeds close to them should understand."
