I knew it - school is going to be near torture this year. I already have multiple assignments that I'm trying to get done as soon as humanly possible, beating back procrastination and not taking a moment for granted.
It's working so far, I'm off to a good start in all my classes, but I just hope I can keep it up.
I also need to pay attention to my finances now - taking personal finance is really altering the way I think about money and how I need to take care of it. But since I get a measly $25 a week at most (which dwindles quickly when I need to start saving for college), I'm going to turn to commissions for my income, and will most likely use weekends for commissions as my "second job."
Speaking of art, college is getting more and more frequent in my daily thoughts. I'm really set on going to MIAD and majoring in illustration (maybe with a bit of painting off to the side). And since the student's portfolio is the most important thing in getting accepted to an art specialty school, I'm trying to devote some time just to personal artistic endeavors. I need to fill my portfolio with creative, high-quality work in just one year.
I'm still trying to set aside time for the pykiin, but it's a challenge. I have a million ideas that want my attention - some long-term, some short-term. I already live at school for 10 out of my 16 waking hours, and I might end up living there for even longer once I get involved in activities - clarinet choir, woodwind ensemble, pep band, drama, VAC...
But thankfully, life is going beautifully despite its busy-ness. I've been keeping in contact with Jy (who is also quite stressed and has yet to start school), it's so great to see all my friends again, and my art teacher is helping me with some very important projects. Classes aren't that bad at all, with the exception of math and fitness. Surprisingly, I'm actually enjoying personal finance (I'm learning so much!) and Physics (my Physics teacher is just about the most hilarious teacher I've ever had. Stoichiometry might end up with a Physics counterpart sooner or later).
Just wanted to check in with you guys and let you know how things are going, though ^^ I haven't forgotten you!!
