"Your body naturally floats because of the air in your body. It is very uncommon that pykiin drown, especially when you are swimming in shallow water. It will also help if you move around." Kiele thought for a minute, "Would you like to try swimming in the lake?"

Teonai glanced uncertainly at the water, his long legs stiff. "Sure.." He said, his voice nervous. "As long as you dont let me drown!"

"I won't I promise." She said, "C'mon let's go!" She hopped bouncily over to the river then waited for Teonai to catch up.

"Good!" He said, trotting to the river to try swimming. "What do i do?" He asked, dipping his foot into the cool water.

"Well, you can start off by putting your body into the water. It might be a little cold, but you'll get used to it eventually. "She said, stepping into the water, the coolness enveloping her. "It's quite refreshing," she said, dunking her head under the water.

Teonai stared cautiously at the water, his black fur standing up. "Okay.." He mumbled, wading into the cool water so it was up to his back.

"There you go! Now start paddling your legs, and moving around. Eventually you will be ready to swim under water." Kiele watched him and remembered when she first learned to swim, how scared she was. She laughed to herself.

"Are you sure? Could i stay in the shallow water?" He question nervously, lifting his legs so that he floated in the water. Paddling a bit, or rather waving them in the water frantically, his eyes shut tightly to protect themselves from the clear water.

"Ofcourse you can stay in the shallow water, we don't want you to drown." Kiele eyed the elven as he swam, like a lifeguard. "You'll be fine as long as you keep paddling."

Teonai smiled at her, his bright eyes warm. That distraction made him forget to paddle, and his head went under, his legs thrashing about wildly. He struggled for a moment before he realized that he could stand, and put his legs under him to support himself. Coughing and hacking up water, he stumbled out of the pond and onto land, his sides heaving. "That.. That scared me." He said, his eyes wide.

"Are you okay, Teonai?" She said, diving into the water to help him out, "I'm sure you are pretty stunned now," she said, being worried for the new pykiin.

Teonai nodded, his heart still thumping wildly in his chest. "I think im okay.." He said, and smiled shakily. "I am willing to try again, though."

"That's good, a good swimmer is always willing to try again." Kiele nodded to him, her eyes focused on the moving water. "This time though, why don't we stay in the shallower area."

Teonai smiled at her, and waded a bit more confidently into the water. He moved his legs around a bit, and it took him a moment to realize that he wasnt standing on the ground anymore; he was swimming! His smile was wide as he looked at Kiele. "I..I think im doing it!" He exclaimed!

Kiele watched as he paddled further out, and the lifted his feet off the ground. "You are! You are doing it! Great job, you can swim now!" She was excited for her friend, maybe almost as excited as he was. "Now try dunking your head under the water very slowly, but take a big breath before then hold your breath under water." Kiele instructed, smiling she swam around in the shallow water.
