... and did, well, fairly okay. www.ponyisland.net/img/gallery/117341.jpgMeet, well, myself, in anime form. Becuase I wanted to try drawing anime, and couldn't think of anyone to draw except myself, without glasses. Because I can't draw glasses. Even if they are awesomely bubbley. And purple. Yeah. So, this is my next goal; learn how to draw anime. 'Cuz its awesome. Yo. So expect more weird anime people drawings from me, mmhmms. Comments and advice, good or bad, are gladly welcomed. a;sldkfj. Feeling a little random, and incredibly BORED...~Charm

Wow very nice! I'd say it's more realistic than most anime, while still definitely anime style. I like it!

There are two styles of anime drawn, I forgot what they're called but the second one is C something something... Arina Tanemura uses that style now ^^ You know, the lady who did Full Moon, Kamikaze Jeanne Kaitou, The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross (Shinshi Doumei Cross) and I think Ion.
But! Lots of practice! I just gave up on drawing anime/manga cause I couldn't draw hands XD But I hope you don't give up ^^ oh and I love the hair! I'm a hair fanatic <3

Looks good! Anime isn't my favorite style, but nevertheless, that's a really good start. I'd say that if you really want to get into the swing of anime, you'll benefit from studying human anatomy and proportions, but... that's probably just me being picky and technical again xD

Actually Lina has a huge point <33 I've known of some well known anime/manga artists that studied the French style, and I know of another who studied medicine before they began their anime/manga careers, and it shows very much in their artwork.

I could always ask my mom for some pictures and diagrams and stuff. She's a licensed nurse. Although she's basically doing typing all day, she still studied all that stuff. Maybe she's got something I can look at... hmm.... -wiggles- And yaayyy. I found some other tutorial thingies on DeviantArt. <3 They're on colouring/shading. Hairs and skins and stuffs. So I'm practicing my colouring skills after getting a bit frustrated on drawing bodies. >.> This person who made these other tutorials had some lineart she didn't mind us using for practice. Soooo I picked one to practice with. Seeeee this is what I have so far. Mostly bleh. But, it's still a start, right? I don't like the shading on the face bllleeehhhh. www.ponyisland.net/img/gallery/118431.png

As far as shading, there are two ways you can go - soft shading and cel shading. Soft shading is more common (I use soft shading almost exclusively), softer, and less noticeable, while cel shading is blocky, hard-edged and usually much more bold. I suggest that before you start shading, you choose which style of shading you want to go with. If you choose soft shading, make sure the edge of your brush is very soft and lower the opacity (I assume you're using Photoshop or GIMP or something of the sort). You don't want the shading to stand out excessively, you just want to make the subject less flat through the use of shadows and highlights. If you decide to go with cel shading, choose a small, hard-edged brush. Sample a color that is only a little bit darker and more saturated than your base color, and use that color to define the edges where shadows fall. Unless something is specifically shiny, you don't want to use highlights with cel shading. You're really getting a good start, though If you want a good anatomy tutorial, I can try to dig up one of Neondragon's old tutorials - those taught me proportions.

LOL Pandie. -wiggles- Thank you. <333 I'm not sure they'd let me publish something at the age of 11. Yaaay uploaded. I need a photobucket... And just to make sure everyone knows, once again, I did not draw the lineart. Just coloured it. Yaaaaaaay.www.ponyisland.net/img/gallery/118942.png

You might be surprised at just how many people under the age of 18 become writers. Including people who're 11. I think your coloring looks great, in honesty. ^_^
