Adelina strode along the beach. It was the first time she had been down by the ocean since she met Brandy’s father. She smiled as she half waded in the tide that would continuously splash against her nimble paws.
The sun was bright and cheery and made the water warm. Addei flicked her hair back as she glanced up at the shining sun. A small gasp left her mouth once the bright day star entered her vision.
Suddenly though her agile step encountered something sharp. She stopped suddenly as the pain overwhelmed her and let out a weary cry of agony. Staying off of her one paw and with her eyes welling up, she carefully dug in the sand attempting to find the culprit of her pain.

Akiyama trailed his tail along the grass just up the beach, smiling lightly in the warmth of the sun. Having left Ichigo and Kiriya with Yume for the day, he was free to do as he pleased. Seeing Addei walking peacefully along the beach, his smile grew happy, glad to see his friend. He left her be, wanting to let Addei enjoy the sunlight before the sun became unpleasently hot.
A sharp cry of pain let Akiyama look quickly - quicker than the blink of an eye - toward Addei, and suddenly run through the sand toward his friend. "Addei, what's wrong? Are you okay?" He asked, looking at Adelina's paw, seeing her dig through the sand.

Addei looked up at Akiyama. A smile grew on her face, though the agony still remained which made her face look a bit awkward. “Oh, I stepped on something.” She gave a crummy look to the sand beneath the two and persisted with digging. “I think I’ll be fine. Thank you.” Oddly her words didn’t seem as sharp as they could have been.
She gently pawed at the sand moving it around like a child were swirling up the peas on a dinner plate. Suddenly a white circular stoneish-shell popped up from the mess she had created. The culprit of her anguish.

Akiyama chuckled just slightly, watching her with a curious expression. "Oh, alright," he said, still concerned. He watched as Addei dug in the sand, moving it around as though a whirlpool spinning backwards. He became a tad dizzy, but not by much. "Is your paw okay?" He asked, looking at her pick up the shell. "Wow. Such a beautiful shell caused so much pain," he frowned.

“I think it will be alright. Though I may need to stay off of it for a short time.” She smiled this time with the pain half gone. She cupped the shell in her opposite paw and marveled. It was small hand had a pinkish tone to it.
“Most beautiful things have their consequences.” She finally announced with a gleam in her eye. Se flicked her hair again and looked up at him as she tried to find her stance, “So, what brings you down here?”

Akiyama smiled, "I'm glad. Don't hurt yourself," he requested, agreeing that staying off of it might be good. He watched the shell in her paw and raised a side of his mask at it, sighing just slightly. "True," he agreed. "Was it a lump, sort of, that hurt you, or a sharp edge?" He asked, smiling once more.
"I don't really know," Akiyama shrugged. "The warm sun, probably." He closed his eyes and looked up at the sun. "Very nice day."

She smiled as she carefully balanced on her hind feet as she transferred the shell into her hurt paw being sure that it didn’t touch the bruise. “It was a sharp pain. Like I had just walked over a patch of rose stems.” She smiled in return glad that he was there.
“Yes, it is a nice day to be down here.” She flicked her tail as the wind hurled itself over the ocean’s surface causing a light whistling sound.

Akiyama squinted just a bit to see the shell in better focus, and suggested, "Maybe it was the point on the shell." He shrugged. "Well, either way."
He sat down and watched the ocean waves roll toward the beach and back into the abyss. "Why were you down here, Addei?" He smiled, looking toard her.

“Probably.” She stated cheerily with a shrug as she placed herself next to him and looked out along the horizon.
“Me, well mainly to think.” She smiled, “You know how ‘Kiin can be and how hard it is to just dwell in yourself when they aren’t sleeping.” She slightly giggled at herself as her gaze remained on the endless ocean.

Sorka glided in to land near her two friends. "Is everything ok? I heard a cry." Her face was filled with worry. The shining shell caught her eye. "This is beautiful. Did you find it here?" She caught Addei's last comment and nodded sympathetically. "Parent is definately a full-time occupation."

Adelina smiled at Sorka, "Yeah, just a little wound." She shook her paw a bit wile still keeping the shell safe. "It's the cause of my pain." She smiled at it sort of lovingly, though she wasn't exactly sure why.
She shook her head and replied, "They cirtainly keep you busy, but it's nice to have them around. There's just something so soothing about them. Before Brandy I was a mess, now granted I'm still a mess, but she helps my nerves calm down. Maybe it's because I feel like I need to protect her." She shrugged, "But I'm glad I have that feeling."

"Oh yes. I wouldn't give up Sonea for anything." Sorka agreed, looking a little dreamy. "To have a kiin is the most wonderful feeling in the world. I don't think anything else comes close." She looked around. "Well, we all know. Still, it is nice to be away from them every once in a while, for a bit."

Adelina nodded, "It's nice." She stated simply as the salty ocean air entered her nostrels and caused her to take a long breath.

Akiyama smiled, "Well, we all chose parenthood." He cocked his head toward the sky, "And I don't think any of us regret it, or ever will." He looked at them and laughed. He looked at Addei. "Is your paw feeling better, or not so much?"

"I think you're right. At least, I've never heard anyone regreting parenthood. It certaintly changes your life, though." Sorka chuckled softly. Her brow creased again as she looked to Addei, waiting to hear how she was feeling.
